Any reason you don't like their wind tunnel testing top performance frames?

Cervelos have a long reach and short stack so if you didn't enjoy riding one its probably because you have longer legs than torso which is when going to something like a Cannondale would be better suited.

The bottom bracket area is not very stiff and eats up quite a bit of power. I do understand wind tunnel testing is important, but honestly 99% of the drag on a bike is the rider. Last year I raced on a Jamis Xenith T2, Argon 18 E112, and Stevens volt. All of those bikes are wind tunnel tested and engineered to allow the most aerodynamic body position. Cervelo makes a fine bike, just not one that I have liked. This year I will be racing on the Argon 18 E118.

I like the E118, nice looking frame. I haven't been able to find any of their data online though.

The first one in the country was sold to a friend of mine. The bike was just released in October after Interbike so there is not much info on them yet.

Holy crap this thread is long. There are some seriously cool bikes shown here. As of now I have a small stable of old school but very cool bikes. I only have pics of the newest one however. Here is the stable
1994 Specialized S-Works Steel frame (VERY rare) Built to '94 top of the line aftermarket specs, SunTour XC-Pro 8 spd, syncros, White Industrys, Cook, bros, Pauls and Grafton as well as some Action Tec stuff. I bought the frame new in '99 or so.
'96 Barracuda A2V, was my single speed, now just a frame set. Its for sale.
'98 Voodoo D-Jab, full 8 spd XTR or trick aftermarket stuff. Chris King wheels, Action-tec Ti bottom bracket, chainrings, and rear cassette, Pauls brake levers, Race Face Next LP cranks. TiTec 118 bars. Manitou Mars Super forks.
'99 Action Tec Scandium custom frame. My pride and joy, Mirror polished frame. I was a factory rider for Action Tec at the time and I broke my old frame. The owner let me design this one and since the Easton Sc7000 tube set had just come out, I wanted to give it a shot. The owner of Action tec was so impressed with the frame after it was built that he added it to the production line. 2.8lb frame, 2.5 lb Action Tec fork The full bike weighed in at sub 20 lbs with full knobby tires. Impressive for a bike built for a 6-1 190 lb guy over a decade ago. I never had a part fail on the bike. This bike had all the parts that are now on my Voodoo. I bent the derailleur hanger on it (non repaceable :( ) I'm trying to graft an old Cannondale replaceable hanger onto it, but haven't had time in the past 4 years to really try.

'03 Klein Adept Pro Carbon. My only full suspension frame. Its cool, but its heavy and I never ride it. XTR/XT mix, White Bros XC70 UL forks, Avid arch Supreme brakes and levers. I'm likely going to sell the frame here in a little bit.
'03 Diamondback Apex. This is my single speed. Its a good frame built with easton tubing. Its pretty light and plenty strong.

'09 Tsunami Custom Road bike. Another frame I designed. Easton Ultralite aero tubing, full Campy Record, Ritchey Logic WCS stem and Bars, Mavic SSC brakes, Alpha Q GS-20 Fork. San Marco Concor Light KA saddle (bought new when I built the bike, mfg date '94. Carbon seat rails, very hard to find) The premise behind this bike was to build a TT and Crit bike. Once upon a time, I had a 50 mph sprint, now, not so much. Since any breakaway in a crit is really an ITT, it stands to reason that I should build a steep angled agile frame with a really tall bottom bracket height (I cannot clip pedals while peddling through a corner in the gutter.) The idea works great, its super stable at high speeds (I've done 70 mph on it) and goes down a hill like no other. On the flats it just goes.

              Will
'59 Alfa Romeo 101.02 Giulietta Sprint
              '69 Alfa Romeo 105.51 1750 GTV (R.I.P)
'69 Datsun 2000 roadster Vintage race car
              '88 BMW M3

Mmmm... I gotta thing for white bareknuckles. I helped my ex girlfriend build a white one up a couple years ago. I was about to order a white 62cm for myself, and happened to find a killer deal on a gently used one in bright green. Coming from three years on a Cannondale capo, this thing feels like butter.

I used to sell BMCs....hands down my favorite road bike manufacturer. The Teammachine is one light/stiff badass bike. Gear and wheels specs?

I've been working at a local bike shop for over a year now, and have had the ability to test ride MANY bikes, whether they be customers', repair bikes, or a fellow competitors' after a race. I must say that I have not ridden anything quite like my Teammachine. The frame came out to be 889 grams bare, something around 920(?) or so with der. hanger and cable guides. It is a size 53, although it has a 55cm top tube.

By far the stiffest in power transfer, stable and highly toss-able through the turns, and comfortable for longer rides. They have made great leaps in their bikes in recent years, both road and mountain (although they were good from the start).

Currently it has a Sram Red BB30 crankset (172.5mm), Syntace 120mm stem, Ritchey EvoCurve 42cm bar, Ultegra 6700 shifters and derailleurs, and Ciamillo Zero Gravity brakes. Standard steel cabling, nothing fancy about that. I need to cut the steerer tube, but need to keep it taller than I need for when I go to sell it. FWIW I only need one spacer underneath the stem, with the stem flipped downward. Specialized cages, I cant remember which ones, but they weigh something like 34 grams? Current wheels are beaters, DT Swiss R1700's with Conti GP4000S tires. These tires are very grippy, and I've had fairly few flats. Last but not least I have a 14-25 Ultegra cassette to comply to Junior gearing. I also have a 52t chainring but am waiting until later in the season to install it; until then, I plan on running the 53t and sneaking my way past the roll outs :p

Building a race wheelset in the next couple weeks, Velocity race hubs laced to velocity escape rims, 28/32 2x front 3x rear, dt revolution spokes with alloy nipples. Probably going to use Tufo tubular tires. Also getting some Dura Ace 7800 skewers to replace the ultegra/mavic combo I currently have.

Current bike weight WITH PEDALS (keo easy) is 16.18 pounds. Expected weight with skewers and race wheels is hopefully sub 15.25

Old photo when I first got the bike. The cranks were replaced with Sram Red, and the front derailleur with and ultegra unit (sram red cage flexes way too much). I really like how this bike feels, power transfer is very good but still provides a comfortable ride. I am going to upgrade the brakes at some point, I would like to try a set of the Zero Gravity calipers.

Looks good, very light. I'm assuming you do lots of climbing?

Forte pedals? who/what are those? I just switched from Look to Speedplays, took a while to get used to clipping in differently.
