The sticker is old, it started off as a singlespeed for around town useage, but the hillclimb to get to work suckass. so I tossed a 7speed on the rear.
At 5'5 or so I don't need a big frame...my stem lengths have always been between 9 and 10 cm on a 52-53 top tube. I'm short...what can I say :)
The pedals are Speedplays X2's...in my opinion the best pedals ever made. When I used to race they were great as they I didn't hit pedals on turns nearly as much as on my previous LOOK's, and on longer events they were easier on my knees and helped me recover from a tendon injury.
As far as riding without brakes, I haven't come into problems with it yet...not to say I someday woun't. All bikes should have brakes...stopping is stopping. When I ride that bike in NYC, I usually put on a front brake (and a dropped h-bar) and find myself not using it rarely, but in that environment it makes sense to have a brake. The riding out here is not nearly as congested, and if you are paying attention to the road ahead you should be OK.
Most riders prefer to have a brake, even on a fixed gear bike. When you get tired and try to stop, shit happens.
one of by best friends just put brakes on his after getting a taxi cab door opened literally right infront of him. when he realized he wasnt hurt at all, he knew that in an emergency, he probably would never be as lucky. i thought about maybe a front brake on mine... we'll see what happens. i've had some close calls

ive ridden in a downtown location for the past 4 years without brakes. i learned quickly that as long as you dont ride like a punk kid drives a civic you will be fine. this doesnt mean i dont have my fair share of scars. ive taken many a spill because of motorists not paying attention. they just dont hurt as bad when youre only doing 12mph as opposed to 20mph :)
I can't ride a bike without brakes. Especially riding around downtown Sarasota and such. The old people here have a three year reaction time when they see stuff.

Is that a Windsor Hour? I just bought the same bike, in grey. That's a sick shot on top of your car.
Yeah, it's a nice bike...I like it. One thing...when you get it, take the tires/tubes off the wheels because they don't put rim tape on from the factory...quick way to get a flat.
Also, for some reason my rear cog wants to slip when I try to skid to a stop...is there any way to tighten this?
And that's not my car anymore...I've got an E30 now. ;) Rather, I'll have one in 2 days.

jesus christ, are you kidding me? no rims strips when the wheels are assembeled? thats so lame.
to tighten up the rear, put a thin film of grease on the cog and tighten it down with a proper chainwhip. then, after a little grease, put the lockring on and use a set of lockring pliers to crank them down. you might want to put the wheel back on and put the front wheel of the bike against somehting to jam down on the cranks before you put on the lock ring...to tighten up further. i found, after a few tries, that you can tighten it pretty easily...you just need to do it a few times.
...wait...does your hub have a step down-reverse thread for the lockring?
i also know that the windsor hours have a pretty weak BB from the factory. be careful skidding, or just buy a new one for $30-100. they are a lot of fun for the price though.
The windors have shitty rear cogs, lock rings, hubs, wheel etc.. They are fine for the normal rider, but if you really ride a lot and skid a lot, then its more worth it for you to invest in a better rear wheel setup. Ive got a friend that said exactly the same as you.
And David A,you never got back to me on the camera on BFC.
