Im cruising craigslist because I'm going back home to visit family this weekend, and I've found a vintage Panasonic track bike, and a Thule bike rack with Fahring for like 200 bucks !!!

My shiz came today! Here's the first few pics:
So this is pretty much right out of the box. First things to go will be the drops, I don't like them at all. I'll most likely get bullhorns, because I like being able to put my hands facing out sometimes instead of straight on. Second thing that's going is the pedals, they're pretty uncomfortable. And I am getting a front brake on it, at least temporarily until I learn to stop better.

I can't see very well; are those clip pedals with stirrups too? What kind of pedals are you going to replace them with? I have Shimano clips and Shimano shoes for my road bike and mountain bike and I love them. It makes long rides much easier as you can use different muscle groups when you get tired.
I'd recommend you look in to something along those lines if you are looking to ride it with any frequency, or on hills and such. They are a bit spendy though, so you'd have to ride quite a bit to justify it.

i ride a fit team park and a late 60's peugeot, and i'm working on getting a DH bike which is why the jumper is for sale so: without jacking too hard hopefully, i have my Dj ride for sale, specs as follow:

if you want to be able to stop without a front brake... you will need straps or clips.... I would recomend using a front brake for the street. If you chain breaks you are f'ed, or if a light turns red while coming down a hill.... someone died recently in seattle from a red light incident, and I know a person who ran into a bus from a chain breaking.... keep you front brake until you go track riding.

I used to ride from Seattle to Bellevue and back 5 times a week, and pretty much rode if I had to go anywhere during traffic hours. There are many hills, and I could get going up to 40 mph pretty easily in some places. I realize you couldn't do that so easily on a fixie, but I would still feel uncomfortable with just a chain brake.

mr. anderson...... you should get your wheels trued before you actually start riding. two of my friends got there bikes off bikesdirect and both sets of wheels weren't true. look into that. we wouldn't want a fellow r3vlimited member getting into an accident.[PAKSIW]20D .........vmwerks :up:ryan gmw :up:
