also, cutting that brake arch probably caused some loss of rigidity.

i do like the twisted spoke wheels.

Sorry you took that so badly.

I was thinking the same thing dude. I dont know how i feel about the twisted spokes though. And why would you just flip the drop outs instead of brazing in some fork ends?

Dallas, October 1913. "Messenger boy in the heart of the Reservation (Red Light). Prostitutes run back and forth. Business beginning at mid-day. I saw messenger boys and delivery boys for drug stores from 15 years upward. Some still younger told me that they go there. This was in spite of a strong agitation being waged to close up the resorts." Photo and caption by Lewis Wickes Hine.

Here is the photo. It will appear in this thread once you go to that link.

I only see one messenger boy and one prostitute in that photo, but his handlebars are HUGE.

Damn. Beat to it. I should have realized a site where you can buy prints would protect their images.

Damn, we should all make our rides a little more retro and rock bars like that.

Ok, so I've decided to I want a flip flop hub; single speed one side and fixie on the other, so I can ease into the whole fixie frenzy. I have a quick release wheel, so it shouldn't be too hard to flip it around. (I don't think its that hard to flip around regardless)

Where can I find such a thing?

and is there any cool bike forums you guys read? I'm more of a lurker than a poster.

By the signup process, I'm not sure SFFIXED is exactly welcoming unless you fit their standards or w/e. So I dunno if I should try to sign up if I don't have a fixie yet.

i've never seen a quick release flip flop hub, but i would probably change your wheel set to a hub that's not quick release... i dunno about your city, but every bike with quick release here gets their wheels stolen.

Wheelsets aren't expensive, you could probably just buy a rear if you really wanted.
