Just got my first roadish bike.I picked it up on Thursday and have only put about 20 miles on it so far. Every day I ride I can go a littler further. My ass is killing me, but I got a pair of padded shorts, so its getting better.
I think clipless pedals are coming in short order.
Now I just have to find a cheap rack for my car.

^^ looks like a good first bike, clipless pedals are so much nicer than cages, you'll love em.
if the roads you ride on our smooth enough, getting road tires will help alot. losing rotational mass is a huge advantage! i think it requires something like 1.8 times the weight of your rotating mass to overcome it. you'll also gain some on aerodynamics.
two things with the pain in the ass. 1 is if the padded are too thick, you'll move around and the saddle a little more and that'll cause chafing. 2 get your bike fitted to you and it will be more comfortable. sometimes this includes a different saddle that fits your body type.

Um, so what about what i said wasnt true? That basically means Trek put pressure on Rolf to crank out mass numbers of wheels. They basically own Rolf now. Thats why the only Rolf wheels you see around are vintage now.
Take a set of vintage pre-Trek ones, and set them next to a Trek licensed set, and see the quality difference.Comment

the rolf prima are built by rolf. any of the rims with rolf prima on them built after 2k1 are made by rolf not trek.
