Just finished this beast



Custom '80s frame with shimano 600 parts, alps bar, suntour superbe brakes and a recovered vetta seat. Had to refresh everything on this bike and it was completely worth it!

yes, the rear derailleur is wrong, have to get a new chain anyway.

It's actually a Sugar 3+ looks like maybe an 03. I've rode with someone who has one, it went down stuff it shouldn't have. Decent bike.

It's got older XTR it looks like. For $300 you'd be hard pressed to go wrong with it.

Consider www.bikesdirect.com I bought a motobecane that had full Ultegra 2x10 for 800 a few years back. If you want a good component groupo that cost less than a bike it's sometime worth it.

Support your local bike shop. If they're halfway decent they'll be there to help you when shit goes wrong/wears out on the bike, which it will if you ride it regularly. You won't get that from an online dealer. All the people that buy online are surely but slowly killing the small business owners out there, and one day you might have to wait 3-5 business days for a tube, because you won't be able to buy one locally.

Now and then I look at this pic, she was almost a identical twin to my own Burner.

Guy came over to pick it up, he rode on my driveway, maybe 30 feets worth
and decided to traspot it on his 8 year old rack instead of placing it inside car as I told him to.

A mile or 3 before his exit it fell, or as he told me ... I saw 1 truck hit it, yet I was stopping to rescue her, then another rig hit it and another, so keep going home".

so I drove from Malibu to 101 side of Santa Monica mountains and scooped what was left of it off the 101., sad indeed. that was back in 2006.

Just a quick update:

I received my Mavic 121 Cermaic/XT 730-732 wheelset. The are almost NOS, hahahaa, in excellent condition. I have already had the old Smart Sam's on there a few weeks as I am tapped out and have no loot for proper rubber.

I have also added a Middleburn 26t granny ring with self-made 5mm spacers, and swapped out the 36T Middleburn for a 38t Pace. I was running out of gear too quickly with the last setup.

Oh yeah, and ODI grips...

And this 2000 Mongoose Pro Titanium(made by Sandvik for Mongoose) today:





It's 3Al/2.5V, with water-cut 6Al/4V dropouts.....sweet.

I didn't wanna pickup (2) Ti frames but I got a great deal on the Litespeed, then another awesome deal on the Mongoose...soooooo, I got both, but i'll be keeping the Mongoose 100%.
