I agree, it is somewhat thin (not necessarily a bad thing). I drank the second half of the 20-some oz bottle last night, and enjoyed it again.

I just got done with a 6 pack of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. IMO, much different then the Sam Adams. Heavier, thicker, and stronger. Not necessarily in pure chocolate flavor though... as I think the Sam Adams had a more distinct chocolate taste.
Thin can be beautiful. Just look at Jon325i's hairline and you'd know what I'm talking about. But thinness in a beer is something I don't like, I'm sorry.

The chocolate is very forward, rather pleasing. The low ABV is an enhancement because I feel the worst thing to pair with a thin mouthfeel is a strong alcohol note.

Anyway I assumed the Brooklyn BCS would be different because it is an imperial stout, one of my other favorite styles of beer. I assumed it'd taste like an imperial stout, and chocolate.

Yeah, I love their Octoberfest. It's super drinkable!

Their "bigger" beers are pretty damn good. I think the Harpoon Leviathan IPA is supposed to be there tonight.

Had a frothy Rogue Chocolate Stout last night. Delicious.

Well, the Leviathan IPA was gone. Instead a fresh keg of Harpoon Leviathan Baltic Porter was tapped. Wow. Very, very coherent, all the way from the nose to the finish. Awesome. I learned the Leviathan Imperial IPA will be a year-round offering instead of a seasonal Leviathan offering. Woot! I also had a chance to taste Brooklyn BCS on fagboi Optimanal's recommendation. It was good, but the chocolate was definitely muted. The finish was long and strong, though.

                    I have a few favorites...

For a hoppy amber it's Mac and Jacks African Amber from Redmond, WA. Their IPA is also quite good as well.

For a good IPA I choose Lagunitas IPA from Petaluma, CA

For an extremely hoppy ale I go for Hop Stoopid from Lagunitas.

However, the beer that is usually in my keg is Fish Tail IPA from my hometown Olympia, WA

Then there's the 13% hard apple cider I have going in my carboy ;)
