the Tamiya stuff was cheapo stuff back then. I had a clodbuster, a blackfoot, and then moved up to the RC10. sold the RC10 a few years back when I bought my newer gas car.

Ya, tamiya stuff still is the cheap stuff, although the bodies on the blackfoot are worth lots, but not much else is. RC10 and such, those are badass... Still screw around with those a bit nowadays with friends.
That's tight. I've got an old electric HPI rs4 rally with a 2-speed. Yes, electric and 2-speed ;). Looks great with the e39 M5 body on it. I also race a xxx-t and I have a mini-z overland and a couple of pan cars that I never use. I also have an old rc10 with foams and all of the fiberglass upgrades. Electric, with the nitro chassis. Pm me if anyone is interested ;)
That was the R/C car that started me on the slippery slope.....
same here actually...... i painted my grasshopper navy blue & yellow...even built a hugh track on the side of my folk's back yard... they weren't too happy about that, but since i spent all my time every day building and racing my RC's around it they let me keep it for about a month or two till i had to flatten it and re-sod the lawn
i think i still have it (probably disassembled & with atleast 2 other RCs) in a box in a closet somewhere
I had a 4WD Tamiya Porsche 959 Rothman's rally car and a Falcon buggy.
The 959 was pretty complex compared to Tamiya's other cars back then. It had three diffs and a Techni-Tuned motor. I can't remember exactly how it worked, but the engine's power characteristics could be changed.
The Falcon was OK, but it was no RC10. I replaced the stock shocks with aluminum units, replaced the tires, and added bearings, but it was still kinda meh. I got rid of it after I broke the chassis several times at the track.
