    Outrageous E30 prices

I passed a local used car lot today with an E30 on it, and it got me thinking. What's the most outrageous price you've seen on an E30 at a dealership or used car lot? This one was a Zinno '88 325. It was SUPER clean, perfectly straight body and immaculate interior, but it was also an auto and had 207k miles on it (not that that's anything for an E30 or an M20), and they wanted $5570 for it. I about choked. I'd say at best, it's maybe worth half that.

A few years ago, right after I wrecked my bronzit car, I found a Delphin '87 325is 5 spd at the local GM dealer with flawless cardinal red interior, an equally flawless body, and 111k miles for $5900. Insane price, but for that car, I still would have paid it. It's my "one that got away".

So what's the most ridiculous price you've seen on an E30 for sale at a lot? (Jordan's former E30 excluded).

Here in Eugene at Executive Auto Sales he had a 90 325is for $6499.00
One owner like new with less than 100k on it. I was not into them at that point but I thought it was a decent price.

What about that one that was on craigslist for $12,000?

I'll go hunt for it, see if its still around...

...found the thread, but as I suspected, the post got deleted. There was also a link to one for $14.9K but the link was dead too.

Yeah, it's at M Cars in Seattle.

You don't see them on lots very often, but when you do, they're always way overpriced.

I went to M cars to pick up a big brake kit and I didn't see that car anywhere. I think they only put actual M cars out to see.

I don't really find nice $6k e30s to be outrageously priced (at least for a 1989-1991 with plastic bumpers in VGC). The design is timeless, and a nicely kept one feels like a new car. I'd pay $6 or $7k for a minter. What do you get nowadays for that price?
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

This one was a diving board auto eta, though. If it was even a manual 325i, I could maybe see paying that much, but I'd still try to haggle them down to $5k or lower, it was in phenomenal shape. At least on an '88, it's direct swap for bumpers.

Its known that Australia has the highest priced E30's, along with New Zealand. Everywhere else they're pretty cheap.

Is that because they didn't get very many?

I know they didn't even actaually get the M3 there, any of them there are imported.
