it was last year in H.S, my senoir year, 1st semster was holocaust, and the second semester was vietnam war. best two classes i had ever taken. You had to have at least a 3.66 gpa, and our teacher is good friends with a survivor. Plus i am from a town of 1000people so it is laid back

For something other than food, the Jewish Quarter at Scottsdale and Shea looks interesting. If not there, perhaps nearby.
I'm not Jewish and have only been in Scottsdale once when I was in Phoenix for a Formula 1 race. I found that "on the google" by entering "Jewish Scottsdale AZ."
The motivation behind your gesture is lacking these days. Maybe I'm just old and don't recall correctly. Neighbors! What a concept!

In regard of a previous post stating that Jews steal, I just fell off my chair when I read it, because it was written with "no harm meant". Just as if it were a natural law of our humanity. I never thought I could hear in 2007 such stereotypical comment. Last time I heard something like that was perhaps in the early 1970's when there were bad jokes about Chinks, Pollocks, Blacks, WOPS, etc. Usually not of the best taste, but certainly showing ignorance and unmotivated hate. So what's next? Let's rope a Nigga' to a truck and tow him on a dirt road?

For you who appreciate the whole concept of kosher products in general, we have a rabbi that comes out to the sulfuric acid plant I work at about once a month - he does a ritual that blesses the acid in the tank, and then it gets loaded into a truck & trailer that only does the "kosher run" - & because he comes out & blesses the acid so it it kosher approved for kosher food processing, the company charges triple !!!!!!! the going rate for that acid.

Too strange to be made up.

Hope you who are in the whole kosher realm appreciate that little story.
    .

what the hell would you need kosher sulfuric acid for???????

I think what you are doing is great.

I don't like most kosher food, I have friends that say the Pope is more Jewish than me.

My Mom gets things for the family here:
    http://www.challahconnection.com/

(most of our Family are still in Manhattan so she has it shipped)

it's actually kind of ironic given my background/history...........but i have low/no expectations of people, that way when they do something nice it's always a bonus!

There are Holiday dessert recipes on this site I provided earlier. I can not however suggest any from the site though.

i have dealt with people like that before ;), who do you think were the first ones to be persecuted? it kind of a toss up German Jews or Polish.
i got stuck in a conversation between 2 Jews while i was at therapy. one guy was asking me about my accident and i told him i worked at phx motor co (Benz dealer). the Jewish woman right by us piped up and said "how can you buy a Benz after all they did to us during the war!"
    i liked his response:
"they didn't do anything to me or any of my family, and did you know that all the taxis in jerusalem are donated by Benz FREE and continue to be for the next 50 years. i feel like with that and the post war reparations it's OK for me to own one, and we are square."
    she just couldn't respond.
last weekend i met a Jewish guy that was with my friend and while we were talking he said:
" don't fuck with me i'm Jewish. we killed Christ, we were the world's waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffless long before they brought Africans to America, we faked an entire holocaust, and we control all the money!"
i about fell out of my chair laughing!

Greg, since you're doing better you need to get out to some local events man. And Parker, you as well.

You bought a house in Scottsdale? Maybe I need to be a bar tender over there.
it took bartending, bouncing, mechanicing, body work, sidework, and room mates + really good credit + first time homeowners govt. grant of 35K, some good luck and my old landlord really liking me, but yea.
