This was in RCE months ago... it forced Cosworth to lay off a bunch of engineers and technicians.

They built a 20k RPM motor that will never get to run.

Sounds like F1 will pull a NASCAR, have its head so far up its own arse that it kills itself.
      Im now E30less.

        Well,

        A: I don't think there's anything wrong with Nascar engines, a 5.7 litre carb'd V8 doing over 700bhp and 10,000 rpms isn't bad at all..

B: GM engines rock in their own way, keep in mind they're built along the typical American mindset, which is that torque is what matters far more than bhp since their style is quick accelerating cars, in my opinion.

C: They're idiots for putting this ban, F1 has been the template for many road going engines and some great cars recently, like the M5 engine per se.

I agree with the Formula 0 concept, a no limits no rules engineering race, that would show ultimate craftsmanship I'd say.

          I still miss the V10's.

Not crazy about all the restrictions on development.

            B????
Why do you think they are revving them to 10k?
it´s not for added torque but HP,, Everybody in the REAL racing world knows what counts.

This will only push out the lower teams out as they already know they can´t design something so quick and at the level needed.

And if there is no development in engines , who want´s to participate?

HP is simply a correlation of usable torque. IMO HP curves are whats important. Ever notice that the torque curve and hp curve on every dyno chart meets at about the same rpm (5,400 IIRC).

              Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!
