Nope, only Bernie Leadon was ever a FBB, but he was part of the 4 original Eagles, after Frey, Henley and Meisner joined forces with Leadon, then the other 3 quit Linda Ronstadt to join in the fun.The eagles have been "country" longer than they were a "rock" act. Half of them were leftovers from the flying burrito brothers to begin with. As for Robert Plant, you sure he was with the chick from Sugarland? I know he & Allison Krauss just did an album together. Sugarland was doing the country stuff with Bon Jovi, who's also done a "country" album. What's left of Skynard went (more) country, under the name "Van Zant". Kid Rock has pretty much planted his seed in the Seger/Country segment, and so has Sheryl Crow & Jewel with their latest stuff.

Plant and Krauss has to be the worst CD I own...absolute crap. "Contractual Obligation" anyone?
Plant and the twat from Sugarland? Damn, I hope not. I just cannot imagine what the hell is happening in the music industry to create such swill.

Its so nice knowing someone that actually knows shit about rock history is speaking. What about their first songs like "Desperado" "New Kid In Town" "Heartache Tonight" and "Take It Easy". Copious use of the slide guitar. They went a bit less country with the arrival of Joe Walsh and the first album with him which was Hotel Cali. Them, CCR, Allman Brothers, and Skynyrd were pretty much owning the whole "country rock" niche. The Eagles, although being commercial and mainstream, were unbelievably skilled "musicians" in the true sense of the word. Intricate melodies, interweaving guitars and vocals (especially when Walsh and Felder played guitar together). The fact that their songs are overplayed on radio shouldnt take away from the fact that they made quality music. I know how easy that can be as I never really liked them until a few years back but knew all about them. They are a spectacular live band. One of the best ever along with Floyd, Genesis, etc. Their work ethic in the 70's even when they were all coked out of their minds never took backseat. They were very dilligent in making themselves sound tight.

Unfortunately your are right. Raps been long dead in terms of relevance. When you see a rap act getting booked for the Super Bowl, you know people have lost the plot. You wouldnt see, NWA, KRS 1, DJ Quik before '95, etc even be considered for a Super Bowl act or even a commercial. Just like Rock had to die and get watered down and polluted as a social commentary, and get bloated, so did rap looong ago. I just cant wait for the next edgy relevant genre to be born.
