Not really, this is my first apple product, never really been a fan for iPods and all that crap for that matter.

I was more trying to correct all the inaccurate info from those ppl who don't know better. Take it as you may, but i've said in my replies, it isn't perfect it isn't meant to do everything.

You are the user he is talking about though. I say it sucks like Outlook Express and is nothing like Outlook and you question my knowledge despite the fact that I am right and now you know it. Then you call the other guy a dumbass because he states basically the same thing. Just because you seemed to figure out how to setup POP email doesnt mean you know Exchange. POP/IMAP is, like you said, for people we dont trust. Iphone owners.

If I wanted to deal with shitty 3rd party software and lose the true smartphone capabilities I'd use a Palm, at least those come with GPS.
      Im now E30less.

Only after you cleared up your comments can I say that yes you are right in that respect, but when you made your first comment, it can be interpeted as you saying the iPhone can't be sycn'd with outlook, when you really meant a realtime contact database and calendar sharing. Which is almost strictly an Enterprised focus argument, and considering the iPhone was never intended for that market, you are attacking clear and already acknowledged weak point.

When a user says something like iTunes storing contacts, without explaining what they really meant, makes them look like a dumbass because iTunes doesn't store contacts.

The iPhone was never an Enterprise device, none of apple's products really are. If you have enterprise needs like you've mentioned then yes, an iPhone will never satisfy them. Atleast not until apple makes a more enterprise friendly iPhone.

Not sure what needed to be cleared up. I stated in the post you referred to that it was closer to outlook express except worse. IF you understood microsoft products you would know exactly what I was talking about. That is exactly what I said, you even quoted it.

But since you dont you simply accuse me of not knowing.

I can type much faster with it than I can a normal 10 key phone, and with more accuracy. It's predictive text is right on point. It doesn't have 3g, but the Edge network is rather fast for me. And no, no other phone has a faster wifi connection. They're all the same.

Plus, your phone doesn't have a full browser. Have you guys ever used an iphone that is unlocked? The thing is amazing with third party applications. It's a full blown computer. And how much storage do you guys have on your phones? a 1gb micro SD card?
I have about 10 2-4gb SD cards since my cameras and other devices use them. So I have more storage than you do and you can't add on so whats your point?

My good friend has one and he gets pissed at the auto correction. He was asking about his "pc" and it kept wanting to change to "of" over and over and he couldn't make it stop. And I would hardly call a touchpad keyboard on a 5" screen "awesome".

I don't have a full browser? I have Internet Explorer AND Picsel Browser... which is Safari, I can zoom in, pan around the screen, click on links, call numbers from link etc. So what don't I have?

This is what I am talking about. You make fun of somones iPhone and they get all defensive and trying to defend. Tell me my Samsun ip-830W sucks. I don't care. It's the phone I use. If it is so awesome you wouldn't have to spend time defending it ;)

I have a hate because I don't like getting ripped off. I have a new Nano but I got it as a gift. I am not paying 500 dollars for a phone that I can get equal or better for 200 dollars. Why would I want to do that?

And as mentioned above, 98% of Apple owners are "holier than though". It is similar to the left wing nut. I don't care if you recycle, thanks for "saving the world". But when I put a plastic bottle in a garbage can I don't want to hear out of your big mouth about how I "could" recycle it. Same goes for Apple, the Apple nuts have to tell you how their OS and computer is better. It is angering.

On top of that I have plenty of "mac friends". I have used iPhone, my iPod Nano 3g, Mac Books, Mac Book Pros, iMacs and everything else. Not for me.

As said before I was slightly off and incorrect in you "can" but it is not the best solution as mentioned before. Sorry I was wrong.

Probably she is, one of my friends got it for Christmas because his brother wanted one. He actually doesn't even care that it is an iPhone... He simply doesn't care. It is his phone.

I guess I'll add my 2 cents in...

I wanted one until about 3 days ago. How awesome can a multimedia phone be that can't even receive picture, video or audio messages. I tried to send a friend of mine a video message and he told me that he couldn't get them for whatever reason. And another one an audio message and again, can't receive them.
I think that was the first time that I was glad that I'm brokeass... If I had the money when they came out I would have gotten one, then realized this and hated my $400 phone for the next 2 years.

As a phone they really did drop the ball. The only cool thing it has going for it is the visual voicemail. They could have made it really competetive by adding the smartphone features (and regular phone features like picture messaging).

As it sits now its an Ipod touch with a phone.

Correction, The Ipod touch is an iPhone without the phone and edge.

Except I define the iphone as a new type of ipod. The media player features are paramount.

Also the iTouch lacks the useful (as useful as you can call it) datebook and contacts features of the iphone.

and a camera + speaker. (Both of which aren't that great)

Actually once hacked you can add the datebook(Calendar) and contacts function to the iTouches.

As well as Mail, GoogleMaps all of which come on the iPhone but not the iTouch.

I forget about the camera and speaker since most phones come with those anymore.

WRT hacking it. Isnt the number one argument of apple owners that you dont have to fuck with them to get them to work?

Not sure of that argument bcus this is my first apple product.

But it's not a matter of getting it to work, hacking the iTouch gives it the ability to do more. Atleast until apple releases the SDK, which im sure people will still want to hack them unless you want to pay iTunes for all the software.
