But it's not a matter of getting it to work, hacking the iTouch gives it the ability to do more. Atleast until apple releases the SDK, which im sure people will still want to hack them unless you want to pay iTunes for all the software.
Well it has been the argument, look at all of the ads.

And the flaw is still that my WM6 phone can do all of those things without hacking it. So in the case of the iphone I can install 3rd party apps all day without fear of an update bricking my phone for a couple weeks.

Of course, that is the same reason Windows is less reliable than OSX, it supports countless platforms and applications. That is like trying to speak all of the worlds languages without making a grammatical mistake in any of them.
    Im now E30less.

WRT hacking it. Isnt the number one argument of apple owners that you dont have to fuck with them to get them to work?
No, usually you have to hack them to be able to do anything yourself :)

They like to make things non-serviceable because it adds to the smugness because only certain people can "fix it".

The iPhone IS NOT A BUSINESS PHONE. It isn't meant to replace treos or other smart phones for businessmen.

It's a media phone for personal use... and the best one at that. Get over it.

It's actually because of the engineers' indian accents. They try to order a short because its significantly cheaper, but significantly less coffee (about 6oz) and they can't pronounce it causing much confusion. They get pissed at us. But whatever...What I don't understand is they're engineers why can't they just order a freakin Tall size and stop being so cheap / hard to work with.

Blackberry = Corporate Business use with a corporate Blackberry Server pushing apps/ contacts/ email/ etc. to there users

Treo = Stand alone hip top that doesn't require server support. Great for advanced users that need a variety of software.

Apple = Great stand alone phone for basic users.

Like an phone/ computer/ device, all that matters is the software. If whatever your using runs a program that makes your life easier/ cooler, then that's the device for you. I love my Treo 755p. I can FTP into my site, edit files, upload photos (even edit them) and call it a day. I love all the applications that have been developed for the platform.

Until Apple releases some API's for software development (which I'm sure they will; it is based on Open BSD), I don't see it being a good phone for advanced users wanting more from the internet connection in their pockets.
