    Voice Recorder

    Odd thread I know.

I'm looking into buying a voice recorder, I've searched the internet a bit but have not gone to a store to look at them. I need to buy one that can back up files on my computer. So no old fashion tape deck ones will do. There is an ipod one that looks handy, but I wanted to know if anyone here by chance uses one or has any tips. I looking to spend less than 75 bucks I would love to spend no more than 50 though.

(I need to start recording my conversations with my daughter's mom to cover my ass, I was granted joint custody and I believe she is going to look for ways to get full custody)

    Thanks,
    Chris

I don't think so. I had a friend who did something similar

Yes, it is illegal if it is done without the consent (possibly written) of all parties involved. It's classified as "wiretapping" which can be used as a very serious offense thanks to the Patriot Act. It doesn't have to be felony but just make sure your ass is covered and she's fully aware that you're making the recording.

check the particular laws of your state. out here recording conversations is legal as long as one party consents (you) and you don't have to tell the other person they're being recorded.

oh. I have a digital olympus model. i get about 2.5 hrs of recording before the memory is full. came with usb cable and all that horseshit.
I'd rather have Sarah Palin 1 hearbeat away from the Presidency than Nancy Pelosi 2 heartbeats away.
