29 (30 next week)
in order:
82 Mercury Lynx wagon - $400 owned 2yrs carb rattled loose after a head gasket replacement and fire started on catilitic converter while at gas station, melted wiring harness
80 Volvo DL240 wagon - $100 owned 1mo replaced the lynx, had a cracked header blad tires and death trap breaks, 2++k mi and the engine ran so string but didnt want to invest any money to fix it
71 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham - $200 owned 4yrs, drove it for a month before moving to colorado, then it sat for 3+ years. awesome car but needed too much restoration. (first Automatic)
97 KTM300exe - $2500 owned 3yrs, did not have a car when i lived in colorado this was my summer ride and badass 300cc 2stroke street legal in CO.
98 Chevy 2500 Tool Side pick-up - (didnt actually own but drove for 2 years) this was my work tuck in colorado and the 454 was an absolute beast, awesome truck took a beating like champ and just kept going. "like a rock" every day was like those chevy commercials running up a muddy rutty access road in the mountains.
8? Subaru DL Hatchback - $200 owned 6 months, bought this POS when i left C.O. had 2++k mi and wouldnt stop running but it went through about 1 qt of oil for every 12 gallons of gas, the blow by was soo bad the front main seal blew out of the block of few times. the seats were all shot and none of the locks worked.
97 Nissan Altima - $12k owned 8yr this was a damn good car, i put 150mi on it and drove it like i stole it. this was the first car i owned that did not burn or leak so much oil that i actually need to do oil changes and i would forget so it would be 6 - 10k miles between them, also blew up trans at 90k mi, then CV's, windshield cracked, engine started to get blow-by then the rear window exploded when i closed the door one morning it eventually lost the will to live. i definately got my moneys worth out of it though.
03 Acura CL3.2 - $11k owned 1yr this car has no soul, but its cruises on the highway like a dream, its a love hate thing this is the 2nd automatic ive owned and i hate automatic its a nice car but gets fairly poor MPG and costs me more then any other car has to own but its a nice car.
86 325e - $750 owned 3mo by far the most fun to drive, not the first rwd drive car but definately the most agile. i think the acura made me miss my beater roots and driving stick, this car gets better mpg then the acura and is a blast to drive.
Favorite car: 86 325e (most fun to drive)
Favorite DD: 03 Acura
Most economical: 97 Altima
Worst car: the subi only because it was in the worst condition when i got it and did not attempt to fix it. those cars run forever and are easy to fix.Last edited by BMWDriver; 10-24-2008, 07:40 AM.

22 year's old here.
I have owned 3 cars.
First car was a 71' 240Z that ended up getting a shitty carb'd 350 and 4 speed when the motor blew. I soon sold that to buy my first BMW.
Second car was my 87' 325IS, Got ran off the road in the rain and R3V'd it into a wall in reverse(See album) I then went on the lookout for my next BMW.
I then got my Third car. 91' 325IC, For 700$. Had alot of things that needed to be fixed. Already replaced the blown motor and got her running but there is much more to fix than just the motor.
I have driven a shitload of cars in my life but I don't remember or attempt to remember them all lol.
During the time I had no running vehicle I drove my fathers 84' C10 Chevy work truck/hauler that sits in his garage. Which gave me a new found respect for those trucks. Solid and reliable while I drove it. It also has a camaro TPI fuel injection setup on it that I pieced together off Ebay for him for about 200$, Runs so much better than when it was carb'd.

i'm 26. in order of aquisition/build completion with approximate age:
'73 vw superbeetle, yellow, 16 y.o. mods: kardon carbs, 009, open air filter, front sway bar, rear traction bar, baja 10 spokes (set of 5, blacked out), sparcos, 4-points, jl audio 8" subs, other audio stuff i can't remember, lowered with i-can't-remember-what.
'66 vw beetle, white, sunroof, 18y.o. mods: 1776cc, kardon, homemade p&p heads and later CB performance 044 heads, 009, dual glass packs, heater box delete, lowered 2 splines rear iirc, fully adjustable front torsion beam assembly, poly trans mounts & front mount, ssk, skat t-shifter with reverse lockout, 4-points, same audio setup from '73.
'63 vw bug chassis-ed sand rail, primer, 18 y.o. mods/build: 1300cc, big-ass a/t front & 32" swamper rear tires, lots-o-lights, home depot plexi glass windsheld, keg gas tank ftw!
'83 rabbit gti, silver 19 y.o. mods: none, really only had the car a few months, wheels & tires, lowered with whatever i could get my hands on, tt cat-back. beater college dd, nuff said.
'83 rabbit #2, silver, 20 y.o. mods: full tt 9a (2.0 from passat iirc) build. when i got the car the headgasket was blown & valve stem seals were bad, i actually traded my CB performace heads from the white bug for this car. rebuilt head in my living room, resurfaced head, fully rebuild bottom end, p&p head from tt, schrick 292 cam (it barely ideled), tt cat back, tt headers, big bore throttle body, k&n, dubspeed f&r stress bars, some crappy lowering springs, kyb gas-a-justs, some crappy wheel & tire combo.
'91 nissan quest, "champagne", 22 y.o. i had to get rid of the rabbit when i decided to move to colorado from NC, as my stuff wouldn't fit. this was the answer. it was reliable until after about 3 months in CO. then....my buddy borrowed it to help his mom move, drove all the way to golden from winter park (+-2 hrs) with the oil pressure light on, moved her stuff, and drove back! the car made it to within 1 mile of home before the engine seized! long story short, after much debating who was responsible of the damage (it seemed pretty fucking obvious to me...) he paid about 3500 to get a junkyard motor put in to fix the damage he had done, which i drove to denver traded in (3k trade in!) in less than a week for....
01.5 audi s4, imola yellow on black, 24 y.o. mods: 100k aftermarket warranty (w00t), 18" RS4 DTM's with hrzII's or blacked out stockie 17"s with icebears for winter, yakima rack & 3 bike trays or ski rack, ecs mag drain plug, low temp afterrun switch, 034 motorsports snub mount, cc headlight mod, just did timing belt & other 70k maintenance, time for a ecu reflash.
and, finally:
'87 325is, zinno, 25 y.o. mods: not much to speak of, it was a pretty clapped out p.o.s. when i got it. i've added a carr industries cat back as there was no cat back to speak of when i got it, fixed lots of minor mechanicals and stuff, and drive it as my daily/beater now.Originally posted by DozyproductionsYou know why you're drinking that Pabst? No its probably not because it was the first beer you grabbed. It's because you're a winner.
