Alright, so I'm responsible for putting together a presentation to represent my division for the quarter. It is to be presented to my staff, my superiors, and all of the big wig CEO guys from corporate. Generally they present to us - but the quarter before last I presented to them and they have asked me to do it again. They usually follow a pretty simple power point template and review a few subjects - but that's lame and I did it last time. What's a better method by which to present something like this? There will be many numbers, graphs, ect. I will also be working with 2 or 3 other people from my division - who's competence is yet to be determined. Any suggestions?

Realistic this time, This bold portion seems to be your main concern, I suggest prep everything you may need on your own, if they arrive with info/material as well, then so be it, otherwise, in these types of events, remember the number one person to count/rely on is yourself. Only use Powerpint to show the graphs and numbers. All other info is lost and detracts from your presentation.
To spruce up the Powerpoint use the templates thay have for backgrounds instead of just a plain solid colored background. Make sure it is not too busy. Other than that know your shit and tell them. Nothing beats actually knowing and understanding what you are presenting.sigpicComment

Agreed. My problem actually stems from my last presentation. My portion was very good. My powerpoint was cleanly designed and well executed. I spent many many hours perfecting it. Presentations like this don't have to be edgy. The time of the people you are presenting to is very valuable. Don't waist it with a circuis tent and lions. Give them the facts they are looking for in an easy to understand way. Do this while portraying to them that you know what you are talking about and that the facts you are presenting are true. If you can do that then they will be more than pleased.sigpicComment

Why change it? If your audience asked you to come back, they liked what they saw last time. I doubt they saw your potential for spectacular quarterly reports and are trying to bring your best out or something. Although I've never done quarterly reports, we did smaller, weekly reports at my last management position, and consistency was key in the presentation, as nobody is really impressed by excellent presentations - just excellent numbers.Comment

Point taken on both counts. Last time I learned the material in and out first - then made the presentation around that. I'll just do the same.
