Holy shit! I don't have to consider a turbo project for my 318 anymore when M42 manifolds are over $1,100. Almost 2 grand for an E36 M/S50 manifold, yikes. They do a damn good job, but I don't have the pockets or the will to shell out 2 grand for a turbo manifold.

Their products look like they are definitely worth what they are asking for. The guy who welds those things is insane.

and to think the ebay manifolds went down to like 140 dollars????????????????? you would think the prices there would go down.
I think I would buy 10 ebayers that "could" crack and still have a few hundered left over.

It's simple supply and demand, he can only make so many at a time and if he's selling them quicker than he can make them you raise the price to even it out.

I bet you poor fuckers would rather him give all his work away, move to fucking China.

actually, the way you should do it is hire another person to make them, thus meeting demand. Not, jack up the price, not meet demand.

I never said he didn't make good stuff, I heard its some of, if not the, best there is.

Stop pushing your very flawed economic thoughts on me

Where is the flaw in HIS plan, you cheap motherfuckers will buy Ebay crap and it will take the load off of him, meaning the folks that want good stuff will get it on time.

                        haha what the hell?

I saw no holes in what Pinepig said.

That is my take on how you grab a foothold in a market. Offer excellent product below what the product is worth. Build a reputation, and if you find demand too high, raise prices to lower demand. Who else makes welded BMW manifolds?

Plus him being a small business and with the worldwide demand on metal right now. I would assume that his raw material costs has gone up quite a bit too. Being a small business he probably does not buy enough material to warrant deep wholesale metal discounts from his suppliers.

Hiring another welder/fabricator is not a cheap thing to do for a small business owner and could easily cost him another $3-5k a month on payroll. He would have to do at least triple the current business to warrant hiring someone of this pay grade.
