Anti photo radar license plate cover

There are a few photo radars on the freeway near where I go often so I got one of those covers. Seems to work in my informal test.

I thought they killed this one on Mythbusters?

Also, that can't be legal... I've never looked into whether it is or not but I will make a blind baseless assumption.

          FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
          December 19, 2007 07-66

NEW YEAR USHERS IN NEW RULES FOR THE ROAD

Several new laws designed to help eliminate distractions and reinforce safety

(Sacramento) With a new year on the horizon, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) wants to remind motorists of a handful of new laws, passed by the Legislature and signed by Governor Schwarzenegger, that go into effect in 2008.

"These new laws will make California's roads safer for motorists and will strengthen law enforcement's ability to crack down on those who try to skirt the law," says CHP Commissioner Mike Brown.

Below are the major changes to driving regulations and vehicle equipment.

Wireless Telephones (SB 1613, Simitian) This law makes it illegal to use a wireless telephone while driving, unless that phone is designed and configured to allow hands-free listening and talking operation and is used in that manner. The law provides an exemption for emergency purposes. The law banning the use of hand held cell phones by motorists goes into effect July 1, 2008

Wireless Telephones, Under 18 (SB 33, Simitian) This law makes it illegal for a minor to use a wireless telephone (even if it’s hands-free) or other mobile service device (any device used to communicate electronically), while operating a vehicle. The law provides an exemption for emergency purposes. This law goes into effect July 1, 2008.

The following new laws take effect Jan. 1, 2008:

Smoking with Minor Passengers (SB 7, Oropeza) This law prohibits anyone in a vehicle from smoking when a minor is present. This law applies whether the vehicle is stopped or moving. This is a secondary violation. An officer cannot stop a driver to determine if they’re in violation of this law.

Double Fine Zones (AB 112, Wolk) This new law establishes a process and criteria for the designation of double-fine zones and deems that Hwy 12 meets that criteria. It designates the segment between I-80 in Solano County and I-5 junction in San Joaquin County as a Safety Enhancement Double Fine Zone.
          -MORE-

          2-2-2-2

Coating License Plates (AB 801, Walters) This new law prohibits the use or sale of a “product” (spray coating) that impairs the reading of a license plate by an electronic devices such as red-light cameras, toll booth cameras and license plate readers.

False Registration (AB 1589, Duvall) This new law, sponsored by the CHP, allows a peace officer to tow a vehicle that is displaying false registration, false license plates or fraudulent registration or registration stickers. Current policy is to cite and only tow if the registration is more than six months out of date.

Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Devices (EPAMD) (AB 470, DeSaulnier) This new law expands on the current law, making it illegal to operate an EPAMD (such as Segways) at an unsafe speed for conditions, in a reckless manner or at a speed that endangers the safety of others. Operators must yield the right-of-way to pedestrians on foot, or disabled persons.

Bicycle Illumination (AB 478, Wolk) The new law now requires a person operating a bicycle during darkness to use lights and reflectors while riding upon a highway, a sidewalk, or a bikeway.

I am in AZ mostly these days where it's legal. It is not a spray on rather a plastic cover with prisms going in different directions on the left from the right.

I did a two day trip to smog the truck into L.A. Friday to Sunday without my front plate on and pulled it off!

Yes! I'm tired of seeing white trash moms hotboxing their toddlers.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

are you staying in Scottsdale? if so the cops are ass-bags about it if........you have an AZ plate. if they pull, you (which will happen!) point out to them that it is LEGAL where you live, and as you are not a resident of Scottsdale (as shown on your drivers licence ) therefore the local laws do not apply since you are just visiting.

i used to live in east Phx and spend most of my time in Scottsdale. i got fucked with all the time! they would pull me just because of the plate cover. i would argue with them about it, point out my Phx address, tell them they were profiling me, which is illegal, argue some more, they would run my info and send me on my way. after a while i got tired of the harassment, and just took it off. i just paid clooser attention to the sides of the road for the mobile vans, since i don't run lights.

be prepared, scottsdale pd is looking to get more $$ after the holidays, and they are willing to crap on your day for no good reason.

No I moved to Ahwatukee. I go to Scottsdale (Hayden) a few times a week and the offramp has cameras where the limit drops to 55.

I thought I was flashed a few times at like 60-62 and hated dreading the ticket in the mail. I still have CA plates & license as I still live in Ca .

I hope to get out of here soon either back to Mexico or LA.

you'll know when you get flashed, it is really fucking bright, even in the day.
avoid the ticket, if you have out of state plates they usually throw the ticket out. if they actually send you the ticket, ignore it for 90 days (don't respond to it). they then have to send it to you via process server, and they wouldn't bother to do it out of state, too much $$$.

                            on another note:
hey! at least the weather is nice now, and all the FBR/superbowl idiots and their traffic are gone now! it could be worse, it could be summer!

I'm loving the weather now & dreading the summer. I hope what I was told last summer was true, that it was abnormally hot.

It was 130 at least three days and averaged 115 most of the time.

                              I am unhappy at 85.
