HD DVD - another nail in the coffin.

Toshiba announced it will quit HD-dvd player production.

Go read the link if you care.

Looks like it would be a good time to pawn any HD DVD's you have - or buy a few players for cheap & stash 'em.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

That was peaty painless compared to the VHS vs betamax wars.

      And I don't think it's just a flesh wound.

If you go onto Amazon right now, or any big online retailier, they're having an HD DVD fire sale. Prices on HD DVD's have been slashed in half everywhere, if not more.

I'm REALLY glad I didn't buy a player when Costco had them at $149 about a month ago.

I have a friend who got a Laserdisc player at a garage sale a few years ago for $25, and he loves it. He buys Laserdiscs on ebay and Amazon all the time for dirt cheap, I think he has something like 50 or 60 of them. They're way better quality than VHS, and just about as good as DVD. He's not seriously into Laserdisc or anything, but for as cheap as they are, and for picture and sound quality, why not?

I have a laserdisc player and some laserdiscs. My dad bought them. I should look into it.

                    Josh-Thats not a bad idea.

They planned on releasing the Special Edition of Transformers on Bluray when the HD DVD contract expired...looks like we'll be getting it sooner then expected.

it was a no brain'r from the start. Same media output but with one that could store up to 6x's the amount of space. I just feel sorry for all those that went out and picked up that $100 special this Christmas or even bought the Xbox HD player for $250. Now we just need to get the BlueRay disk drives down in price. Its almost better to buy a PS3 just for the BlueRay.

The only thing that is going to hurt with Blue Ray or HD technology is the Porn Industry. Ones not really going to want to see all the pimples and ingrown hairs on a girls ass so vividly. Oh well!

Vedubin, being an avid porn downloader myself, I would REALLY like to thank you for that lovely image you just put in my head. LOL

I have Laserdiscs too, with some classic films.. Top Gun, the original Gone in 60 Seconds, just to name a few...
