Oh yeah right - anyone who goes with that "I tried to tell 'em" arguement should just go right out & vote for Obama.

    You are who he's targeting.

Real world - he might have mumbled under his breath "hey, that's not me", but as soon as he found out it worked in his favor, he did a very smart thing - he didn't cleanout his account. Smart thinking only pulling 2MM.

What he should have done was plan retirement, and liquidate the money to a way it wouldn't leave a trail.......then go find that beach in Tialand & sip cold beverages 'till your dying day.

Dave's right - he's screwed. FDIC will kick in for the rich guy, unless they still have that 1MM cap on insurable balance.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

      WRONG!

He knew that it was not his. The bank's continued persistent mistake did not change his knowledge. Now, you might make some mileage with a jury arguing that point, but honestly, the fact that he continually told them it was NOT his makes it clear that he knew that the money belonged to someone else.

Jesus christ, what does that argument have anything to do with who I vote for? Get a clue.

And yes Dave, you're probably right; he's still screwed. But what was he supposed to do? If he continually told them about the mistake and they continually told him it's his, then is he supposed to just leave it sitting there forever?

And FDIC doesn't enter into it. That covers only if the bank fails - and I think they still have limits. This is the Bank's problem. Their negligence was the proximate cause of the "real" owner of the account to lose his $$. They need to replace the money.

I would hazard a guess that it was the Bank, and not the Rich Benjamin Lovell who initiated the criminal charges.

You just gotta ignore that tripe. Some people have been listening to hate . . . er, I mean Talk Radio for too long. ;)

Yes. He knows it is not his. Once he exerts control over it to make it his, he is committing theft.

The bold statement says that he could take it, not that he HAD to.

Sure, and if I go to the valet, and he brings me the brand new Lambo and not my POS, and he inists that it is mine and I can take it - can I?

                C'mon.

Yeah - true. Sadly, it was just ~2hrs of it. Concentrated stuff, I swear.

But my point was that if you think that this guy is immune from prosecution, then that's the same type of mentality that thinks a charismatic speaker (biggest quality he's got) can turn the country around.

OK, I can see others calling it a stretch. Just like I think it's a stretch that Obama would do any real permanent good.

I like the constant Obama references. Something on your mind there? Haha.
