Finally. Season 10 premier is on BBCA RIGHT NOWComment

Watching it right now. That Aston Martin James is driving is SICK. And he's absolutely right about everything he's said about it compared to the Porsche and the Lambo.
My only gripe so far? There's no BBC America HD. I hate watching standard def shows on a widescreen HDTV.Comment

james is a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles though, keep watchingComment

Yeah, I'm seeing that, lol.
I'd take the Porsche over the other 2. I find nothing special about Lamborghinis. Never have other than the Countach, which was my favorite car when I was a little kid, simply because of the looks.Comment

i agree, i would completely tear that porsche up on those roads. good episode thoughComment

+1, Lamborghinis are all flashy and edgy on the outside, and then you jump in and get a nice whiff of VAG sensibility. It's the yellow ones that give me the impression the the driver has attachments the size of raisins. Pssh, not for me.- Trey

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. To me, a sports car/super car with no kind of motorsport or racing pedigree or history just doesn't do anything for me. A Lamborghini to me is nothing more than a sleek, powerful car built to show how much money you have and how fast you can go. And just so a certain someone won't have a leg to stand on, I've seen multiple models of Lambos in person, even ridden in a few. Yes, they're powerful, incredible feats of engineering. Some of them even look pretty badass. But given the opportunity and the money to afford cars like that, a Lamborghini would be the furthest down the list, if it even made it on in the first place.Comment

Even if it is still standard def. I wish they would put out a BBC HD.Comment

DIVX compatible DVD players are fucking awesome :) That being said, I'm completely with you on Top Gear in HD. The arctic trek episode was absolutely beautiful(and hilarious).Comment

Before BBCA had Top Gear on, I was slinging episodes off my Media Center to my XBox360. It's nice to have episodes on regular tv though.
I worry greatly about the rumors of an NBC Americanized Top Gear. Few of the candidates for hosting the show have any of the qualities that make the presenters of the UK show so much fun.
Jay Leno? Yeah he's a car nut, but without a script, as seen on Rides et al, he falls into mumbling about what he likes about this or that.
Tim Allen? Christopher Titus? Same thing.
Jason Priestley? Not a chance. Even with a script on Rides he's as wooden as Hayden Christiansen in Star Wars.
Patrick Dempsey? I'd like to see how an actor (not a stand up comic) with some racing pedigree could do. I'll reserve my judgment.
Tommy Kendall has a bit of showman to him on Speed's Setup program. (You guys should all be rooting for Mike Skeen in the Geico car; a fellow E30 nut from SpecE30.)
Boris Said or Randy Pobst could be good choices too. No one from full-time NASCAR need apply.
Peter Klutt and Tom Hnatiw already have their own show, but the fat jokes still persist.
No what an American Top Gear needs is freedom of speech. When Jezza, Captain Slow, or the Hamster dump on a car for being crap, there is no advertiser backlash. And that has everything to do with the way the BBC is funded. American network tv can never get away from the yoke of advertising... and an American Top Gear will be a rolling love fest for even the crappiest cars featured.- Sco
