sad to hear, but IMO he took WAY too much credit for those cars, he never even picked up a wrench, he just bitched at the people doing the work for him all day.

He never picked up a wrench during THAT SHOW. Boyd Coddington was building hot-rods by hand for long before any of our little E30's were even built. So before you go declaring that the guy never did anything, know a little background, first.Comment

I was gonna say the same thing. He was running billet wheels when it was aerospace only type material. He build many winners, even a Ridler, and GNRS car too. Back before he had that huge ass shop in La Habra. He sold out like Jessie James though, years ago. Damn reality tv show Bubble.Comment

I am aware of his history, but that dosn't change the fact that he took credit for every car built on that show that he never even touched. It wouldn't bother me so much if he gave his team one tenth of the credit they deserve, if you didn't watch the show and only talked to him you'd think he built all those cars single handed. I understand he was a huge influence on the industry, but that's not an excuse for how he treated those guys. Why do you think Charlie went to work with Foose? Because Foose gives almost all the credit to his build team, I like his modesty and ability to not hog the spot light. Something Boyd never had.

Boyd was a dillhole on the show. Dwayne too: OOOOOOOH let's get mad about dumb stuff that has no bearing on anything and carry chips on our shoulders for the cameraz too!
RIP though... he did have the skills, and his men did... Foose too. Too bad they were like industry enemies er whatever. Anyways....

I have seen every episode of that show. At the end of every build he always thanked his crew, and said at every public unveiling that they are the ones that made that particular car possible, that he couldnt do it without them. As far as the show, he is selling a product. So much of that product was just the name Boyd Coddington. If that is selling out than so be it. The man made rolling art, every single car that he released were distinctly boyd coddington. As far as chip foose goes, you wouldnt even know who he was if not for boyd coddington. That man did more to bring hot rodding into the mainstream than anyone else ever. Just my .02sigpicComment
