In his last fight against Hardy, yes. But he at least delivers punishment while in control, and attempted two submissions against Hardy that would have forced a tap out of 99% of opponents.
Plus, its well known that GSP is an above average striker to say the least, some consider him elite (mostly canadian fanboys), and that's something Fitch can't touch. I would say Fitch is a middle of the pack striker, if that.2007 Range Rover Sport S/CComment

When's Wanderlei due back? Fight against Sonnen for #1 contender while Vitor and Silva go at it? Mentioned on Sherdog and sounded interesting.
While we're on the Vitor subject, other than selling PPV buys, why is he getting a title shot? He beat Rich Franklin at 195... a victory that impressed me little. And now he gets a shot at the 185 title!?Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

I don't think there will be an immediate rematch, but that was by far the most unexpected fight I've ever seen! I don't really care for Silva, I think he's the best of the best, but I wanted Sonnen to pull it off. That's the first time in his life he's lost 2 rounds in a fight, let alone 4! Sonnen talks a lotta shit, but the fucker can back it up!
I hate Jon Fitch, is there anything more boring than watching some dude lay on top of another dude and bear hug for 15 minutes? He can't knock someone out, he's got average submissions, he's only good at holding people on the ground. I hope he gets a shot at GSP then gets killed...again.
^Agreed.
While I respect Jon Fitch I find his fights really boring. The guy has no natural talent but has trained very hard to get there.
He should retire and become a trainer, because the new upcoming guys are going to murder him.
GSP fights are also kind of boring, leg kicks and lots of man love seem to be his SOP.Comment

I think because Silva has cleaned out the division, and Vitor has some of the best hands at 205/185. Other than that, I have no idea...
I dont know if that was sarcasm, but if I wanna watch some fag with a bad haircut wrestle someone w/o hitting anyone, I'll go to a high school wrestling tournament.2007 Range Rover Sport S/CComment

Yeah he's so elite that he got KTFO by Matt Serra. He's not an elite striker which is why he does nothing but lay on top of people. In his last fight against Hardy, yes. Anybody can get knocked out, GSP was actually TKO'd against a very underrated striker in Matt Serra. Look at all of his fights against top rated opponents, he handidly wins the striking battle almost every time.2007 Range Rover Sport S/CComment

yes, that's exactly why...
sarcasm? the gif I posted fully supports everyone's hatred of that fight, as well as mine...

Vitor hasn't won a meaningful fight in over five years. He TKOed a washed up Rich Franklin in an unimpressive match.
The UFC advertising promos claim that he has the "fastest hands in MMA" while showing a clip of him KTFOing Wanderlei in 1998!Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

no question, and that shit just can't happen fast enough. Shogun said right after his fight with Lyoto that he had no problems with that fight. Anderson has been adamant about not moving up permanently. Dana just needs to make it worth his while. Not even a tough SOB like Sonnen controlling Anderson for 4.5 rounds can take him out and I'm not talking about grinding out a decision win either. Dana needs to make it worth Silva's while to go up again and fight.
I can understand Anderson wanting to let Lyoto get the chance to avenge himself against Shogun though. Those guys are friends and respect each other's stomping grounds. It would take away from Lyoto if Anderson went up and beat Shogun and on the flip side, it would make Lyoto, Anderson, and all of Black House look bad if Anderson got beat, which I think he would get beat by Rua.

I was just making sure, I got a lotta shit from some Fitch fans on another forum, they seem to think his takedowns make him a god among men
Like I said above, anybody can get knocked out, but Vitor does still have some astonishingly quick hands. I wonder if his hands are good enough to win a striking battle with Silva? I think Sonnen rocked him a couple times because he was so worried about the impending takedowns. If it turns into a strictly standing battle I can't see Vitor winning this fight, 6 years ago I may have thought differently...
I'm not sure I think would win, possibly Rua, and I wonder how Silva would handle himself against an elite, full time 205'er?

two more belts for Brasilians! I don't know what Lawal was thinking, he should have applied the same game plan as he did against Mousasi although Rafael was defending the takedowns well.
