Were there races in Sonoma CO this weekend? I went out on the delta this weekend and my wife's friend was receiving pictures from one of her friends. Had I known that I would have gone up there instead of going out on the boat!

The Santa Rosa airshow was this weekend as well as the one in Salinas. (They really need to find separate weekends for those shows since they detract from one another. ) Santa Rosa was Eh at best. They did have an Douglas SBD (one of 3 flying in the world.) and a P47 Thunderbolt there. They also had to F18 displays (boring) and the F22 made an appearance (also boring, but I think I got some good afterburner shock diamond shots) Honestly, I think I should have gone to Salinas.

I'm just getting into the memory card I haven't seen yet. Its filled with this sort of content. I've got some great stuff from the T6, Biplane, and IF1 classes on it. Lots of good stuff to share.

We had a 40 acre fire pop up yesterday, and I found the perfect place to watch Cal Fire, and Neptune Aviation take care of business. 4 S2 Trackers, two BAE 146s and a pair of UH-1 helicopters were on the fire. It was a rare treat to shoot air tankers at work. I love having 500mm of lens on hand.

#'s 4, 7, & 8 are the best of the bunch imo. All are great though for sure. I like 3,4,5,7 and 8. I was well over a mile away from where they were dropping on the fire. 3-5 was a single drop in sequence. 7 is just epic, 8 I like because the retardant just vanishes below the S2. Shots 9 and 10 are a different plane on a different drop (I don't know why they dropped from so high) They had to be 500+ feet AGL. That final shot in the dark was cool because of how it shows the wake turbulence in the smoke. I shot that way late, I think it was the next to last drop for the night.
