What about a BlackBerry/BlackJack...

I have had a BB 8130 for the last few years. I've used other handhelds, but I always end up with another BlackBerry. For people who send and receive email all day long there's nothing better, IMO. I use the browser quite a bit (unlimited data FTW) but it can be slow depending on the connection.
That said, I do agree that for anything besides email they're way behind the curve. We just got my wife a Samsung Gleam (ooh, it's purple!!one!) and I'm shocked by how good the screens/features/cameras have gotten on the average cell phone in the last few years. It makes my 8130 look positively archaic by comparison.

We are a Blackberry only shop here where I work, however I am on the phone with BB technical support for over an hour Grr!!!
I love it though. Have owned many other Windows Mobile phones that dont compare as far as the reliability and ease of use/robust design of Blackberry phones and RIM service.
The Blackjack is a good phone though, just sucks its on AT&T. Go with Sprint or Verizon for top notch EVDO speeds... You cant get the Curve on either of these services though. So its an 8703E or 8130 or 8830 for you. 8830 is probably your best choice. No camera though. (? I think)
James: I expect you here soon :)
