    Rottweiler or Pitbull?

    Hey guys-
Looking into getting a new puppy, but really want to get a bigger dog than the usual lab/retreiver.
I have been around countless rottis and pitbulls and really like the way they are built and abediant(sp?) to thier owners. What do you guys prefer and why? Any advice on breeders or just training?
    Thanks!

hah blunt thanks for the offer, I would say I qualify for all of those except...rich
Any one here with experience with both dogs? My brother has a pitt and I really like it but a rotti would be a cool dog to have too.

I have 3 of these running around the house. They are called Bernese Mountain Dogs. They are extremely smart and very obedient. They will range at adult age from 90-125lbs and will reach that weight usually withing the first 12-18 months. The freaking LOVE snow and are very active between naps. Just search hard for a good breeder as they are fairly rare to find really good bloodlines.

This one is about 3-4 months(not mine)

These are a full grown adult(not mine)

Pitbull, I have an Amstaff and she is a great dog.
Rotties are good dogs but they just get too big imo.
If you are going to get a pitbull get one from a good home not some G on da block block.

Between just the two, pitbull, no question about it. We had them all throughout me growing up, and theyre great loyal dogs. Even though they were always great, for some reason I wouldnt really trust em around my kid (if I had one) or my small dogs. Not unless you know the person who breeds em, and know theyre not pieces of shit who beat and fight their dogs. If theyre just good people who like the animals, and are enthusiasts, then I say go for it.

For a big dog we have a White german sheppard now, and shes bad ass. Shes goofy, loyal, but is very smart.

Atomic-that is a beautiful dog but I am looking for more of a shorter haired dog

For those who have pittbulls- did you all get them from a private breeder? Local pound? Off springs of a friends dog? Basically lookig for the best place.
