San Francisco rental car ideas

I'm finally breaking down and taking a short vacation to San Fran at the end of the month and while my friend who I'm visiting wants to be practical and rent a Mini for exploring purposes, I'm thinking it would be a lot more fun to take public transport most of the time and blow my car rental money on Lotus Elise for a day of blasting up the coast/mountain roads of Marin County.

Does anyone on here have any experience with renting exotics or have a more practical, yet still enjoyable idea for something to rent while I'm there?

exotics are usually a 2 day minimum rental in SF. although i havent looked into it in over 5 yrs. MUNI is pretty good, will take you anywhere, i just cant get myself to ride it.

A mini should be plenty of fun in the city - I don't know about renting something exotic.

People drive bat shit insane crazy in the city. You can do just about anything, and the cops don't care.

If you LOVE garlic - hit up the "Stinking Rose" - It's a restaurant off of Broadway (one block away from all the strip clubs)

The car would be more for getting out of the city and I found a place that will rent a Lotus Elise for a day. It's half a week's pay but I think it might be worth it on the coast roads in Marin Co....

Yes, but I gave up on attempted entry a long time ago. She has lots of hot, single friends though, hence the idea of getting a lotus for a day or two...

Ah the small pee pee syndrome... Get a nice car and they will never notice my inferiority complex. LOL

I had a friend who rented a Ferrari spider in Vegas a few years back and said it was worth every penny it costs to blast around in a car like that.

I say go for it.
