    So not-so-practical options are this:
    Pricey (One day only):
    Lotus Elise
    Porsche Boxster
    Audi TT Cabrio
Less Pricey (Maybe get it for a few days):
Mini Cooper Vert (Standard available, that's a plus)
    350Z vert
Cheap enough that it would be worth having for a few days:
    MX-5
    Mini (auto. ghey.)

It seems like they're all pretty gay cars but I guess that's the nature of the beast.

Fiddel - you might get a kick out of seeing some of the street musicians there. Some amazing talent. Just head to fisherman's wharf.

No idea what to rent but I went to SF a couple of weekends ago and took BART/MUNI and walked the whole time. It cost like $50 more for my g/f and I to fly to SF instead of driving there from San Diego, and took a shit load less time. Parking in SF ain't cheap.

If you want to stand out at all, your only real option is the Elise. Everything else on your list is a dime a dozen in this area. If it doesn't matter to you, then you should be fine with any of those.

Yeah, I think there only point to having a car would be to get out of the city so it will either be something practical so we can haul surfboards or the Elise just because it's a fucking Elise.
