i don't think having salvia should be made into such a heinous crime. i do however think it should not be available for sale.
i know of quite a few people who have hurt themselves pretty bad from getting high on that shit. it can totally disorient you.
kids around the US are going and picking up the 80x jars of salvia, lighting a bowl as they pull out of the local smoke shop, and crashing their cars 100 yards down the road.

i'm not saying you can't smoke your salvia in a controlled environment and have a perfectly safe time giggling and drooling, but kids are going to abuse these types of things and do way more than they should etc.. it was only a matter of time until salvia got some real legal attention.
i think the future of salvia is looking pretty grim. the way they see it, people are getting hurt and complaining, and the only opposing force in outlawing salvia are the "dopers" that like to get high on the shit. hmmmmm

Salvia was a fucking trip. A trip that I had no control over. I'm never doing that again. Why should they make it a crime? Nobody does Salvia on a regular basis. Everyone tries it once, maybe a few times, then says "fuck that". Where is the harm?

That's my understanding of it too. I know lots of people that try it, but never more than once or twice. I would bet that about 50% of Salvia buyers are first-time users. Everyone says it's just not that great, so they don't do it again. The whole issue will probably take care of itself as more people try it once and then give up on it.
