Well, for 2 days I'll be at vintage at the vineyards meeting up with some 2002 folk. The rest of the time vacationing with my wfe i guess. Relaxing - checking out the area.

        Asheville for the win!!!!

Take the Blueridge Parkway to Haywood County and check out the waterfallls. I used to live in Waynesville NC and it is a great area.

Well, my opinion is slightly biased from living in NC for all of my life, but it seems like a pretty nice place. Not sure exactly what aspect of NC you're focusing on, but the climate is pretty consistent and relatively dry in terms of humidity. The job market is desolate in some areas, while booming in others (Charlotte, Mooresville, the like.) I like to think that we've lost most of the "hillbilly" feel, but then there are some areas (the sticks) where it is very noticeable. There are a few tourist attractions I suppose, it depends on which area you plan on visiting/living. Our CCA chapter is doing quite well, holding regular DE's mostly at VIR or other tracks in central NC. Road Atlanta, Roebling Road, VIR, Carolina Motorsports Park (Kershaw, SC) are all fairly close in terms of driving distance. There are numerous BMW shops in the triad areas (Korman, Motorsports Connection, and probably a few other out towards eastern NC.) Plenty of driving roads are in Western NC, but again, I'm not certain about the eastern parts. The Dragon is not too far from the NC/TN border, more reason to live in an area such as Asheville. I'm not sure where you're living now, but I imagine if you plan on living here you'll warm up to the environment in no time.

My brother also plans on attending Vintage at the Vineyards, look for him to be in an Alpinweiss E28 535is. This will be our first year there, and we're definitely looking forward to it. Keep us updated, it's always nice to have another E30 enthusiast in the area.
