The X6 xDrive35i/xDrive45i- the first BMW to ever use a torque vectoring awd system - the outside wheel while cornering is given extra torque to improve cornering speed and stability (as opposed to braking the inside wheel)

It is a very similar system to the Nissan GTRs AWD computer, part of why it gets ridiculous lap times.

Not to mention, the first BMW to get the 408hp turbocharged V8.

Add the best of BMWs other technologies into a package for any weather condition including rough terrain, and you've got one hell of a vehicle, and it should be for an 8-syllable name - pics:

For the US market? the Acura TSX (accord euro etc.) Diesel (fall08'/spring09').

          End of story.

One step closer to putting Diesel into something people actually drive in this country and buy in mass quantities.

Any TD will be awesome. I can't wait for the 1/3/5-series diesels. it's too bad diesel is still so expensive here (I still can't figure out why, it requires less refining than gas and should be cheaper. hell, it was cheaper for decades up until about 2002 and shit went screwy)

I have to agree, a 135td would be very cool. You say you "can't wait", so does that mean they actually do plan on bringing the diesels over? That would be very cool.

If we are talking in the sense of flat out badass and not gas savers, I vote 2009 Cadillac CTS-V. Supercharged V8, 550hp, 550 ftlbs torque, 6spd manual or 6spd auto with paddle shifters. Holds the record at Nurburgring for stock sedan.

Cool video of a 2006 CTS-V. The burnout at 2min just does it for me.

A decent home video of another one. They sound sooooooooo good.

^ that interior looks dreadful. It's like the Shiny Plastic Fairy had an orgasm all over the dash

But the exterior/car itself is very cool

I drove an X6 the other day at the Ultimate Drive at the dealership, fuck that giant pig. It felt like driving a new 7 series with an 8" lift. Not only that, the rear windshield is at such a wierd angle that you can hardly see out of it. Backing that behemoth up into it's spot when I got back was a nightmare.

That's why it's got a rearview camera as an option.

It's simple. You can choose to drive your passenger car less. You can make alternate arrangments for transportation, carpool, walk, mass transit, etc. An owner/op of an 18 wheeler can't choose to drive less. A logistics & shipping company can't choose to drive less and stay in business. The diesel market is always going to be strong, there's always going to be demand. The US doesn't subsidize the hell out of diesel like Europe does.
