    Buying a mattress?'s

Okay I have almost completed the stupid mattress shopping choir and am ready to buy. It's an Ashley Furniture Teesdale 2 Queen size. They want $549 for it. I've always heard people haggle and get good deals. I have the money, but why give all of it when I don't have to? Anyone know how to bring them to their knees?

maybe tell them that you like it, but your spouse does not and you would only take it for the right price

Tell them you want it - but you only have $xxx.xx cash on you.

the markup on furniture is HUUGE. you can definitely talk them down on price, especially if the sales are comission based. But remember to be nice, nobody is going to give an asshole a good deal.

I got my mattress for $200 - it was retail priced at about $1000. we were furnishing a whole house and we were freinds with the sales guy which is why we got everything so cheap - it also helped that the store was moving so they had to liquidate inventory. :)
