It might be more expensive to live here but I don't pay rent and commercial goods all cost the same. If I want something cheap I just have to drive inland. I was making $15.50 when I was 16 working like 45-50 hours a week it was a stupid amount of money.

You don't pay rent?! You're damn lucky! I know CA isn't as bad as it seems all the time, but yes - the cost of living is substantially higher in that part of the country - you cannot deny that. Higher sales tax, VERY expensive properties - it's just a fact. But, since you don't pay for living, it naturally wouldn't affect you that bad.

Nothin comes free to me, so if I got to live in Newport Beach for free, I'd be pretty damn happy too. Damn college loans...ugh. lol

Damn, I wish I found jobs like that when I was 18... When I was 18, I was making a humble $6.19 per hour, :D ... When I was 25, I was making BANK 'cuz I worked for CountryWide and mortgage companies, but I quit the industry because it is scandalous and I can't work for unethical companies and the industry itself can be unethical. Now, I'm just comfortable as long as I surf, eat, sleep, shit, drift, auto-x, and s m o k e, I'm good; I'm a simple man and a :pimp: 'cuz i Play In More Pussy! lol, but i'm not a Person Into Marketing Prostitutes, :)

I loved the money I made when I was working construction about 2 years ago. I was making like 27/hr working 10-hour days 5 days a week and 75/day just for being there. Life was great then. I really need to get back into and build a house/shop.

The dues are 15 bucks a months. which isnt bad because that goes to the gas money they give you when you go to the classes ever 3 months. Plus there is 32 billion dollars of construction work in vegas.

Only because I still live with my parents. I could NEVER afford to move out on what I make now :'(

And my union dues are $40 a year (optional) haha.

I clean pools for a company, 20 dollars a pool. Hours are however long it takes me to clean 7-10 pools a day, can take whatever breaktimes i want and i do not have to deal with a single person most of the time! Fastest I have done a big pool WELL is about half an hour ;)

PS. I'm only 19. And yes its 5 days a week.

Congrats on the job. Since you are 18, you should learn now how to save, and manage your money properly.

I am lucky that in high school my best friend's parents owned a court reporting company. I got a job doing stenography work When I was 17 for them, and I still do it four years later. Pays $2 a page, and I can do anywhere from 10-25 pages in an hour. Plus, I work from home, and can pick my own hours.
