Needing some help on some things Im working on. Im opening up a bar school and event staffing here in Miami. The school will open in the fall of 08. Currently Im building a website but need to get a splash page up. This is what I have been working on. I am not complete but you get the point.

What sort of cocktail genre will you be focusing on? I've started to become an enthusiast recently.

I actually attended an event hosted by David Wondrich (and the Oregon Bartenders Guild) recently. Check out his new book, Imbibe!, if you haven't already.

We will be working on job placement in clubs and local bars here in Miami. We will be offering flair classes and advanced flair classes after general bartending. We will have an advanced Mixology class that will specialize in over 100 different Martini's. We landed a huge event company that will be requiring us to staff their events starting May 15th. I would also like to offer a class for bar management. There are 4 of us that started this. All but me are currently working for some of the finest clubs here in Miami. Me I am a bartender but do not work as one for a living...as of now.

Right on. Portland went through that whole Mangotini, Chocotini, GreenTeatini, etc scene a year or so ago. Most of those places are starting to go by the wayside now as the resurgance of classic cocktails (and subtle twists) has taken over here. It's still a niche market even here though.

Being in Miami the Martini never dies. Some of the biggest bars here are Martini Bars. Blue Martini and Martini Bar. You have all your mixed island drinks and such. People come here to drink those drinks when on a vacation.
I wish we had the Micro Brew beers that you guys get out west and PNW. My last trip out west was filled with finding new beers.

#2 - it's the clearest that it's a bar. The others look like something out of a starwars movie. Cool - but it doesn't get the point acrossed.
