What is your definition of......

"Euro".

everyone has their own idea, point of view as to what "euro" is to them. what makes it euro to you? stretched tires? fender rolling? "eurostyle" seems to be a overused term these days and its kind of getting on my nerves. so i want to know what other opinions are, cause maybe mine is off.

for example. the new Performance BMW magazine i believe has a orange e30 on the cover. on the cover, underneath the title of the car it says "the definition of Euro". I'm sorry...but a e30 painted a stock Lamborghini (looks like it at least) color, tires stretched and pushing a big offset wheel that almost sticks out past the fenders is NOT Euro to me. honestly i dunno what it is, but it doesn't scream European to me at all. it screams low rider, hydros, impala wanna be to me.

It seems that most mods that you see on a VW are what set the "Euro" trend. I don't think this is fair at all, that one marque can determine a style. this is NOT a bash thread on peoples cars, VW at all. i just want some input as to what this all means to you.

There's a difference between what people that know stuff about e30's call euro and what the general population considers euro.

For people in the know, euro typically refers to EDM cars, or options only offered on EDM cars. For example, euro early chrome bumpers, late euro bumper strips, and a whole bunch of small aftermarket tidbits never really marketed in the U.S. are all considered 'euro' by e30 guys in the US.

From what I've seen, 'euro' in the general population refers to cars made in Europe. Thus, any BMW is somewhat euro, and particularly nice examples of European cars are often hawked as "OMG TEH EUROZ" to the American consumer. It's kinda like how ricers have JDM practically emblazoned on their face, but for people with slightly more class :P

I am down with Euro style, and a little of the Euro tuning. But there is a lot of it that is over the top in my book. I like things to be subtle, and look like they had the chance of being OE.

I agree with most people on here. Euro is parts or options that were only available in Europe. As for "Euro style", I really don't know.

Euro is as bad as Rice. Way too many people call it Euro just because they have a "Euro" car.
And stretched tires is not Euro, it's pointless and looks retarded.

Euro to me is the classic styling you see on few cars. Usually just stock exterior, lowered with nice wheels and good performance tires. To much more and Euro becomes rice.

because the bmw enthusiast community is too close-minded and purist to set trends? hahaha, no, there are some trendsetters in the bmw community, but maybe since veedubs are less costly people are willing to take more risks when modding. idk.

I have to agree with you on this same reason civics are first to be mod'd, there cheap.


I know people who can afford to a buy 335i and mod it but choose to buy a gti, mod it, still save money and not get flamed by the bmw community.

e30.de is the definition of euro. Real euro cars being tuned by real euro guys using real euro parts. Most of the "cookie cutter" e30's on this board are what I'd define as American tuning. Subtle, performance orientated, clean look, power under the hood.
