Been a while for me. Outside of normal/preventative maintenance this '90 has needed nothing since I bought it at 250k miles 2 years ago (for $750, I might add). It's been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Now, 2 e30s ago, I had a rotbox Bronzit, electrical glitch, POS '84 318i. I'd say there was maybe a month total (not conscutive) out of the three years I had that one that I didn't hate it. Worst car I ever owned. I shed not a single tear when I waved that whore off to the crusher. So I guess that was the last time I felt "I hate THIS e30". Wow, that was almost 7 years ago.

    Damn, I'm getting old.

I'm going through mine right now. I'm debating selling one of my e30's for a new daily driver. I'm looking at a 1953 Willys M38A1. I don't think its a practical DD

Everytime I see th ebottle caps I think how much I hate my E30. Then I realize its just the piece of shit wheels I hate. Then I drive the E46... and I REALLY love the E30.

I generally hate my X5 more than my E30

Its not so much hatred, I kinda of like the problems and quirks as long as the car drives.
I get bored quick. So I'm constantly having to change shit. I think I'll just get another car instead and buy the E30 a house of its own aka storage shed.

I did yesterday. I just got everyone working tits and then had a fuel delivery problem. After replacing both pumps and the fuel filter, and re-adjusting the TPS and tightening all leaks... It ran fine - better than before... BUT!... now it has some strange slack on the throttle cable that I need to fix today. if it's not one thing, it's another.

I've lost interest since I bought my 4runner. I still have plans for my e30, but It's sat for a year now fully legal and rarely driven (maybe SCCA every 2 or 3 months) and I'm debating turning in my plates and just moving it to a dedicated project car.

Or throw down a coat of paint, buy all my A/C parts brand new and have a semi-pimp DD while I work on my 4runner.

If I had somewhere to work on it then I'd love to come home and do a little to the e30 here and there, but with no space I can't just pull my car into a good spot and leave it there indefinately. I have loads of parts to put on just nowhere to do it in the timeframe of my lazy ass

I get frustrated, but I don't think I have hated it. The one thing that really frustrates me is the fact that my starter likes to play tricks on me, or my battery is on it's last legs.

Not daily driving your project car will remove MANY headaches..

it comes and goes about once a year, but I tend to cluster all upgrades/repairs into spring (that would be right now) so the rest of the year I basically just drive it, wash it and change the oil. So yeah, right now I'm hating that I spent $300 on it today and nothing is an upgrad from what I'm replacing (other than being old/worn out) :(

I still need about $500 to get it done for the year.. and don't even get me started on my damn seats!

Me, oh not very often cause I've worked on worse vehicles. My wife that is a completely different story, I believe she's been in the "I hate E30s" since I bought the car. But I have the feeling I'll be in one this weekend, as I change both rear wheel bearings and brake pads/discs all-around. She doesn't like the maintenance stuff ($$$), she'd drive her Tribute to and thru the ground if I let her.
