    Home made cannons

ok so today I was doing a bit of cleaning and I stumbled upon these:

Golf ball/ potato/paintball gun so shot a few of each and then remembered that I still had a bigger one...

Basket ball canon! 12"x13'. It sounds like a canon too! it needs two guys to move it around and it shoots at 300 yards. I don't have any more picture or video of it since my hard drive died a while ago but I'll ask a friend of mine if he still has pic/video of it tonight.

How many of you guys have built any?(I have built around 20, 10 for me others for friends or neighbors). What fuel do you use?(I use propane because its cheap and reliable) For how long have you been doing it (me 5 years and I'm 21) and do you still enjoy it?(hell yeah) I usually bring those in partys where every one usually enjoys it.

those were very illegal when I was growing up. But funny thing is these are what we got into when I was younger.

        Go figure!

Back in the early 1970s, when beer cans were made from steel, we were building bazookas with fuel as an explosive and tennis balls for projectile. Such bazookas were quite efficient as they could throw balls so high that we would loose eye contact.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

I've done my share of potato cannons when I was in college using anything aerosol as a propellant (hairspray, carb cleaner, etc.) piezo bbq lighter for ignition. Sharpened the end of the pvc with a file, then used an old hockey stick to ram potato down barrel. The sharpened pvc would cut to size. always kind of scared me though, someone always had a cousin's brother-in-law's friend's neighbor who blew one up and lost a finger.

My friends and I made a few potato cannons back when we were 15 or so. Very similar setup, but we didn't use propane. Like already stated, we use hairspray and WD-40. We experimented and found a good mixture of the two.

                          Man, that shit was fun.
