It depends on where you're driving. Flat road is fine for fuel economy, but if you're driving where there's a lot of hills or elevation change your economy goes way down because the car is trying to compensate by accelerating up hills where you might not be driving that fast if you were controlling the throttle.

i think so. the electronics will stabilize the throttle position better than your foot. however, i usually interupt cruise control when a hill comes up on the highway. traffic usually slows down going uphill because nobody uses CC.Comment

I generally get ~350 on my 318iS before my low gas light comes on. Even then I've never filled up more than 12.9(I think was my most) gallons. What I've read is that 318's had a 14.5 gallon tank? OP have you recently changed out your fuel filter, because I hadn't done mine in a while, and it literally gave me a 30-40 mile addition per tank.
With my calcuations I generally average about 30+ mpg and I don't drive my car nicely...Got to be above 3500rpm to have any fun :twisted:Last edited by stevofthahill; 08-19-2008, 02:37 PM.Comment
