sure its designed by germans, but the materials used and the build quality are both easily described as "cheap"... I just don't like newer dubs sorry. But you did a nice job cleaning that one up and nothing is really done wrong with it.

Gotta remember your on a forum for people obsessed with 80's 3 series, your not gonna get much new car love, especially for a mkIV vw.

judging by the way the car drives and the wheels people put on them, yes

so basically you made a thread just for people to compliment you on cleaning a jetta... on a bmw forum, wtf was the point of that?

I own a 90's car too, but everyone on this forum hates the car but loves its engine so its not like I only like e30's. Only jetta worth driving in my book is the tdi, its a boring car so a effecient boring engine is perfect for car, plus 44mpg is pretty sweet. I don't get whats so great about the VR6 it only came in heavy awd vehicles and fwd vehicles.

Dude, GTFO. At first I respected your opinion but now that you say its not supercharged, i realize you don't even have a clue of what you're talking about.
You see that shiny piece of metal over to lower left front of the engine bay, thats called a Vortech V-9 Supercharger. It compresses air into my VR6 engine.
You can talk all the s h i t you want about MY car, and you have, but judging by the looks of the car in your sig, your e30 looks like complete ass compared to my Non-supercharged plain Jetta.
And yea I did start a thread about how well I clean it because it was a huge difference. It's first and foremost, a CAR forum. I posted in the off topic lounge and I can make a thread about whatever the f u c k I want! Somebody made a thread about some Jersey looking d-bag pchopped on a picure of an unknown Brazilian tribe and you're giving me s h i t about MY thread. At least it's car related. So like I said, GTFO E-Thug. My engine bay looks better than your entire car.

Along with other people, I'm not really a fan of those cars. However, some of the people giving you shit are seriously idiots (SOME, not all of you). I'm a "car guy" too, and I can respect the time and money you've put in to the thing. Nicely done. My friend in high school had a mkIII GTI vr6 and I loved to drive it. At the time, I thought it was pretty damn fast.

Is it as easy for you to get a LSD as it is for honda guys? I really don't know too much about them, but my friend in high school had one in his turbo teggy and it did wonders.

After observing a timing belt change on one, I'm inclined to say yes.

OMG, this motor design is a mess. belts on one side chains on the other. You pretty much have to remove the motor to get the tranny out. Hell is what it is.

It has chains, not a belt. And it's not that hard. You do it once and it gets easier every time. I read a DIY and did my first timing chain job ever on my first jetta. Took me less than 4 1/2 hrs the first time with one extra hand and the right tools.
It isnt ideal though being a transverse engine does make it harder.
