What kind of bad injuries have you had?

I'm wondering what kind of injuries all of you have had. I had a pretty bad one when I was younger, so I'll start:

I found copies of some old Polaroids, so I took a picture of them. They are low quality, but you can get the picture.

When I was nine, I was at my dad's house being baby-sat by my older sister. My dad had two Siberian huskies, and they had gotten in to the trash. My sister was afraid to go outside at night, so I took care of it rather than her (thank god). I went to take some trash out of one of the dog's mouth, and it got pissed, growled and mauled the shit out of me. He bit my face, tore my nose off, tore my lip up, knocked out two teeth and got under my chin pretty bad as well. My nose was hanging on by a small amount of skin. Here are the pics:

    Pre-surgery in the ER:

And these two are during surgery. You can see my nose being pulled back before being sewn back on.

Thankfully the surgeon on call was one of the best in the area, and he did a very good job. After the initial surgery, I still needed further reconstructive surgery, but my father's insurance company though they were just cosmetic, and would not cover them. My mother sued the insurance company and it was settled for an amount of money. The money paid for the other four surgeries, and I had enough left to put a down payment on a house a couple years ago.

12 years later, you can hardly notice it anymore. This was a couple weeks ago:

The one on the right is a hottie. The one on the left is a cutie.

    Dogs are vicious man.

Worst I ever had in terms of damage was a very badly sprained ankle. Worse pain I had was last year when I crushed my finger between a pry bar and a brake rotor, don't ask. But finger injuries are soooo painful.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Wow you almost got your nose ripped off

      Nothing real bad.

But I cracked my head open when I was like 4 or 5. You can still feel when it kinda fused back together.
A while back I got two ribs broken in MMA training. 140 pound guy vs. a 225 pound guy not too fair I guess.

I will look for pictures of my little sister helping my uncle change his brakes, she stuck her finger in the holes of the lugs and someone else turned the rotor.

I've only had one bad injury, i broke my hip at the age of 14. They put 3 screws in it. The screws have been taken out along time ago, and i have limited movement bending it still.

I think I'm kind of accident prone...but nothing terrible thank god.

          - Got a giant block thrown at my head and glued my skin back together
          - Hyper-extended my right wrist and had to wear some dorky cast for a half year...twice
          - Was at a construction site and tripped. Rebar (the shit used to strengthen concrete before it's poured) went straight into my leg, hit my bone and got stuck.
          - Ran full speed into a divider between the lunch room doors
          - Landed on my head snowboarding, more oopsie pain
          - Broke 3 fingers playing basketball
          - Broke my big toe playing soccer
          - Broke my nose 3 times playing soccer/basketball (kicked in face, punched in face, head-butted in face)
          - Power went out and garage door fell on me when I was little
          - Hit in the face with hockey stick, black eyes/face
          - And your typical fingers in car doors, fishing hooks, and hammer smashes

Ninja edit: I've got to say that the worst feeling is when you're cutting a bagel or bread of some sort and you take out your finger...that just blows.
Nothing terribly serious, all shitty though.

            ^^Damn, I can't compete with that.

            Broke my arm skiing
Injured knee on pilgrimage in Spain...probably will need surgery
Bear maced several times in the face by gangsta robbers (most frustrating pain I've ever experienced because you can't get rid of it...just gotta let it run its course)...

^^ FTW!!! hahaha (broken nose #3)

Soccer fucks you up, just generally speaking.

I also forgot that I had a pinched nerve in my back from soccer. I turned the wrong way and ended up having a slipped disc and a pinched nerve.

Separated shoulder (and dislocation on the same shoulder). Type III separation for those of you that know.
Did it snowboarding (on ice.. our mountains suck over here). Messed up doing a trick and my right shoulder took the full impact.
Its hard driving a stick with your right arm in a sling, haha.

For those of you that don't know, it's where my collar bone is no longer attached to my shoulder.

The way it currently looks. I opted out of surgery for the time being.

When I was real young I took a hard spill directly on my ass. It left a big crack which never healed :-P

Broke my nose twice when I was little, don't remember shit about it only that I took a dive off a wooden chair one of them.

Broke my ankle, inside the socket
Broke my leg, took a helmet at about full speed to it, I was a kick returner @ 260lbs. That hurt
Torn my hamstring...no not pull, tore. Sprinting in regional finals 4x100 relay came around the corner and BOOM. Guy had it on film, sounded cool from the stands. Megraine in the legs anyone? just keeps thumping with your heart, felt good.

Yeah, I've had a few minor one's like you guys have mentioned. I cut my chin open as a kid on the edge of a table, and cut my head open on the back door of an Izuzu Trooper.

When I played rugby in high school, I had quite a few injuries. I had a couple concussions, the worst put me out for a week, and I puked all over my trainer about 15 minutes after it happened. And my junior year at the national tournament, someone from the opposite team was standing on my foot, I turned and went to run after the ball. I instantly hear a loud "POP" and fell to the ground. I had broken a piece of my femur off right under the knee cap about the size of a quarter and about 1cm thick. I continued to play through the pain during that tournament and I proceeded to tear up all of the remaining cartilage in my knee. I had bone grafted in the place of the missing part, but my knee will seriously never be the same.

If I could take back one incident, I wish that I wouldn't have injured my knee. That shit will never be the same for the rest of my life. I played my senior year in rugby, but it just wasn't the same. I then came to school here and tried to play on the team. My knee simply wasn't in the right shape to be playing that sport at the level that I was used to. I was used to playing at a very high level, and even though I was starting on the team, I wasn't playing at teh same level that I had been before I injured it. I was forced to give it up. I'll never get over that.
