I can tell today is a little worse than yesterday. Just down on energy and my appitite is gone.

I've noticed my mouth is much more sensitive to spicey foods and this morning everything tastes off a bit. Lets just say the snozzberries don't quite taste like snozzberries anymore.

I feel like I've wasted a whole weekend loafing around the house but I can't seem to gather the energy to get anything accomplished.

Wow guys, I greatly underestimated the toll of chemo. My regiment was Adriamycin, Bleomycin, Velban, and Dacarbazine otherwise known as ABVD. The Adriamycin is the red Koolaid looking stuff they are injecting into my in the 2nd pic.

At first when I got home I was fine and then within about an hour I began getting some horrid abdominal cramping. Since my body was still in fasting mode my stomach was getting pumped full of bile. Naturally, when you fast you liver gets overloaded with your body's natural toxins and begins to empty it out via your bile duct into your stomach. The first day you water fast you get a little nauseated because of it. Well my liver immediately started filtering out the chemo this way into my stomach and needless to say vomitting was not fun. Things didn't settle down until 9:30 last night when I was finally able to put down some soup and saltines. I tried watching the movie Casino but I was to wiped out.

This morning I feel almost completely normal again. So I might have discovered the good & bad of fasting before chemo. Good is that next day you're almost 100% normal again. Bad is the first 8hrs after chemo is lower abdominal hell. I personally believe it has alot to do with the Dacarbazine since the burning sensation in my guts were almost similar to those in my veins.

as a side note after my dad had chemo and radiation he lost his hair. my dad was 75 years old now and had really nice thick grey hair. when that shit came back in it came in black. he looked like a "just for men" commercial and i made fun of him. i know you dont have grey hair but maybe youll get something else cool. if nothing else i know you are going be grateful once youre cured and not take health for granted like a lot of us do.

So far so good. I'm posting currently from the chemo bull pen using my Blackberry. I was supposed to start at 8:30 this morning

So far I've already pissed orange once thanks to the Adriamycin. I'm currently getting the last drug infusion of Dacarbazine which takes the longest to administer and burns my IV site.

Tara has taken a few pics she's keeping to track the progression of my treatments if they're not to bad I will post some up later.

Good luck Robert. Maybe the chemo will have some positive side effects, other than helping defeat the cancer, like super human strength or maybe even the one thing every little kid, and probably everyone here, would love to have, X-Ray vision.

it may sound weird, but eating clean can really help. takes a lot of the stress off your body so it can use more of its power to fight the cancer.

I know of a guy (friend of a friend) who was diagnosed with colon cancer in the later terminal stages and made a full recovery. He credits his success to going on a straight vegan diet (along with the doctor's treatments). PM me if you want his contact info.

Not to be repetititve but I will continue to keep you in prayer. With the latest treatments that are available, cancer is no longer the death sentence that it once was.
