I'm dissapointed in the 9 hours of NASCAR in the middle there. Otherwise, our friends and I will be viewing and partying!

Its on! The Pugeot 908s locked up the first 3 spots on the grid with Audi R10s on their tails. The French cars are brutally fast on the straights and are pulling from the Germans a bit, but Audi has the time-tested durability. Lots of time remaining for drama to unfold and set in.

Weatherwise, its much cooler than expected, it even caught the tire suppliers off guard. Rain isn't being completely ruled out either.

      Good stuff :-D

Been watchin' since the green dropped. And I will continue to do so till the checkers fly. And while they are off air, i will hopefully get the M42 in the car. And then it's off to Marysville after the race.

The last hour and a half of non-LeMans coverage -isn't-even-live-. One NASCAR talk show, one NASCAR reality show, and one tape-delayed shifter cart race. Let Speed know how you feel about this.

Is this the first time for these new Peugeots? I hear a lot of speculating for the announcers about them.

Actually last year was their first appearance at Le Mans. They didn't do too bad for their first effort. Since then they've been running in various euro sports car/prototype events to sort the car out. They also brought it over to Sebring earlier this year to further prepare themselves for the big endurance event.

The 908s certainly are quick, but as many announcers have mentioned, the Audi squad is one very well oil machine - they have prototype endurance racing down to a science. So the Pugeots may be quick, but quick means nothing if you're not running at the end of the 24th hour.

^^^^ I've been Googling for updates, here's what's been reported.

The No. 8 Pugeot had a gearbox linkage problem during the third hour which resulted in a 20 minute pitstop.

The No. 9 Pugeot was last reported having some headlight problems. No word how this was remedied.

Both are relatively small issues, but as like so many times before at this race, even a small 'glitch' can kill your chances of finishing well.....or at all.

I saw during the 3rd hour they paddle shifters in Pugeot 8 went out so they pulled it in the garage then I left to get a flat screen for the old man of the house.

Thanks for the links. I was wondering what's been going on.
