I agree 100% on that whole 9mm vs .40 crap. I choose 9mm because it is nato backed and if for what ever reason 9mm will be more plentiful. I only shoot Nato ammo'd guns. Exception to that is the 7.62x39 and thats because its still cheap to shoot and I hand built my AK.
Any gun nuts on here?

Once I do own a pistol, I plan on taking some home defense classes, but I think any well placed shots regardless of caliber will knock an intruder down, unless he's wearing kevlar....Comment

Custom Eclipse II in target setup. Its a tank but I get good groupings out of it.
Id only worry about shooting NATO rounds if I was shooting volume, like fucking around in the country. I dont do that and I typically buy range or wadcutter rounds that are made in small batches so there is no cost savings. FMJs are the only ones you get cheaper in a NATO round.
And if you are talking about defense caliber definately does matter. People think its about making holes. That is the last thing you want with a hollowpoint. Its designed to expand to transfer as much energy as possible. The heavier the bullet the better because it has the effect of a sledgehammer on someone. A 22 will hurt but it wont stop someone/something charging, especially if its on drugs or adrenaline. A 210grain bullet, however, will hit them (literally) like bowling ball. Even a shot into the shoulder will make them fall down.
Most glocks are ass and muzzle flip BTW.Im now E30less.

YEP !! Anyday of the week... 500's are POS IMHO.
I have the glock 33 for everyday carry use and really like it. Good and compact and RELIABLE !! Plus the .357sig just kicks ass if you can stomach the cost of shooting it.
A Kimber is the next to be added to my collection, well right after I buy a 9mm AR15 carbine before the Dems take that right away from me that is...
