As a sysadmin I DESPISE Blackberry Enterprise Server, so I hate Blackberry by default.

Why does it cost me insane amounts of money to connect a cellphone to Microsoft Exchange?...oh wait Activesync is free.

I've heard from some friends that it's possible to unlock the iPhone and use it with any service that uses sim cards, eg. T-mobile, and Alltell maybe? Anyone have any words on that?

Not sure about the 3G iphone, but my iphone has been unlocked since the day I got it. I wouldn't have bought it if I had to keep it as it came. I have AT&T, so I don't need to change my carrier, but yes, there is a program called AnySIM that lets you use any SIM card with the iphone. Not sure how that would work with the data plans of other carriers though.

my wife and I decided to resell our current iphones to a website that buys used electronics and we are getting around $200 for hers and about $180 for mine since it has a few scratches. Last time we sold a couple of old cell phones and an old digital camera and we got got pretty good $$$ since we were not using them. In the meantime, I am using an old old cell phone until the new 3G comes out..
It sucks that they can not upgrade the speed on the current ones. Since I have been using AT&T for ever, I don't mind 2 more years...

I too am going to be dumping my first gen iphone. My mom needs a new phone, so I'm going to give her mine and get the 3G. She doesn't need 3G and the more expensive plan anyways.

I know the Iphone plan is a rip off too but I would just like to be able to add the phone to an existing plan. I am on a SERO plan that has plenty of minutes for me. I dont text often so I dont need unlimited texts. And data, well since everyone caps their data now there is no real thing as an unlimited plan.

Im actually considering using the fact that Sprint finally is going to cap their data plan to get rid of my data card.
I was a manger at a Sprint call center up until a month ago. The memo stated they are plnning on implementing a data usage cap for standard data plans, not aircards and PAM (phone as a modem) plans. I got a sero phone for my brother, mom, daughter, and GF, and they all have unlimited web, text, roaming, long distance, nights at 7pm and weekends free, mobile to mobile (all sprint, boost and nextel calls free both directions) and 500 minutes per month for $30. I just told them all to get the insurance in case they lose it.
