Floods of 2008 - Iowa City

My friend/boss made this video of pictures he took over the last month. The Iowa River is right behind the shop where I work so we had a lot to deal with during the floods. Kind of long, but its cool to see the whole thing from start to finish. Look for President Bush at around 8 min.

some info on the wall: it ended up being about a mile long from end to end, approx. 8 feet high, then after it had been backfilled with dirt, it was about 12 feet wide at the base. Took a 7-day week to construct, and 1 day to tear down the section on our lot.

EDIT: The video was removed due to "copyight infringment". I think somebody had a problem with the use of a Weezer song? lame...

Man, thanks for sharing.... thats some hard shit to endure. Looks like thing could have been a lot worse if it was not for that incredible wall you guys built. Almost looks like a war zone.

Those weren't needed here. The folks of Iowa City aren't afraid to take on such a challenge and ultimately persevere.

oh hell yeah that rain storm sucked. we (mason city , iowa) were at the beginning of that storm, we got tons of water it flooded part of the downtown area. we went with out water for like 4 days. it went right through us down to cedar falls/ waterloo and then iowa city.
