          Farbin,

Thank you for helping me better understand the situation. Each thread was like five or six pages, so I just skimmed each page and got the gist of it. Apparently a bunch of ex-Honda owners out West are fond of do-rifting and driving fast on public roads. They meet up in large groups with their hoodies, their offset license plates, their stretched tires over Sportmaxx "rimzes". They figure that their cars are so ratty that they might as well forget about basic maintenance and general car care and try to imitate movies like Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. This usually goes wrong and they crash their "rat rods" and find someone or something else to blame their poor driving skills on. They completely disregard everyone else on the road and try to go after their own stupid and reckless ambitions. These hoons have no place on the roads or on the forums (unless it's E30Tech.)

Who you choose to associate with says a lot about who you are as a person. Whether he's your "leader" or not doesn't matter. If he speaks for you as a group and you do nothing to correct the image he projects, you effectively endorse his actions and statements, even more so when you defend them.

That canyon carving thread is the introduction I got to your group, and it's left a lasting impression (as you can tell.) I have a 23 month old and a beatiful wife; losing one of them to some jackass using surface streets as their personal racetrack would ruin my world, and consequently I have no tolerance for them or people who hang out with people like them. Throw drinking and/or smoking into it and it just fans the flames.

Personal note: In October of 2002 I was hit head on by another motorcycle while riding my ZX12. I suffered a concussion, 2 broken arms, a broken rotator cuff and permanent nerve damage to my left (dominant) arm. Once I got done with 3 months of recovery, including having my girlfriend (now wife) wiping my ass and helping me shower, I got to relearn how to write and do everything else right-handed since my left arm is no longer working as intended. (Ask Delphinitive or Jax S50 about how well my left arm works now.) I believe that the true measure of a man is how he overcomes adversity, and I'm proud to say I'm a way better person now than before the accident, but I'll never forget the road I've traveled.

Anyway, the guy riding the other bike was riding at 10/10ths, didn't have a license, and was what the sportbike community would call a "squid." No gear, $40 helmet, no insurance, and riding with reckless abandon to the detriment of everyone around him. You can see guys just like him on Palomar, Angeles Crest, Ortega, or any other twisty road. Including Mullholland. He had a few broken bones, but a couple months later he was free to ride again with no permanent damages.

The only difference I see between the "e30 lifestyle crew" and the average sportbike squid is the vehicle of choice. Take it for what it is worth. This will be my last post in this thread.

Like I mentioned before, I understand where you are coming from but the only thing that I cant help are his actions. I realize that he is absent minded at times and he gets ahead of himself, but we as a group have no association with the illegal drifters and/or road racers. The threads he posted were childish and ultimately ridiculous. He was told by the rest of his friends, including me that he needs to quit saying shit like that. He has since then been attending sanctioned events regularly and has been very cautious on the roads.

No disrespect was ever meant to you or anyone else, I just want my group of friends to get respected as well.

                        WOW Tim.

You have never broke speed limit? Ever driven faster than should have?

Just because you got in a wreck, doesn't mean you can now be a hypocrite and lump every one who does spirited driving to reckless drivers. That is not cool. You might have a bad experience, but you can not honestly say that you have never done anything illegal in your car on a public road.

No one is asking for you to endorse that sort of behavior, and no one on this forum will (i hope). People are just having fun building their cars, hanging out together and enjoying each other company. Cruising is part of it.

Oh, I do spirited drives all the time. I do NOT drive 10/10ths and endanger others. There's a huge difference. We did a drive over the mountains to Palm Springs on Sunday night with 5 cars. Twisty roads, lots of fun. Did I strictly observe the speed limit? No. Did I lead the drive at a good pace without getting anyone out of control or beyond their limits? Absolutely. There's a huge difference.

I didn't make my observations from some "holier than thou" perspective. I made them from posts on these forums by people I have decided I'd rather not associate with, and, unlike many, I don't have an issue saying it "out loud" on the forum.

Nice job taking a tiny bit of my post and replying to it out of context, btw.

true, but it was long ago acknowledged that Jeremiel is a nimrod.

let me share my experience really quick:

                                1. my first totaled car was destroyed by an old guy who didn't see me and ran a stop sign.

                                a. I hate every one who drives a Chevy Cavalier
                                b. I hate every driver over 65.

                                2. Over a month ago, a guy totaled my e30 by running into opposite lane. head on collision.

                                a. I hate all Honda drivers
                                b. I hate all black drivers.

IF YOU ANSWERED ANY OF THOSE, they are all comically correct answers. I am not a fan of chevies or hondas. I don't like old people and majority of black people (bling-bling-thum-thumpers) on my public roads.

I also not a big fan of women drivers, teenagers, and honestly every one who is not driving my speed or in front of me.

In the words of late George Carlin : "People who go slower than you are assholes, but people who go faster are maniacs."

                                So true.
