I wish it was the whole thread, unfortunate is the fact that the "SoCal E30 Lyfestyle Krew" keeps trying to post NWS pics in a non-NWS sub-forum. Some assorted newd shotz.

Vac Man, i'm sorry to hear about your accident. I can't even keep track of the countless people i've seen airlifted out of angeles crest. But i believe your personal experience is biasing your outlook on our enthusiasm. The whole canyon carving thing was blown way out of proportion. Poor choice of wording on jeremiels part. I was the pack leader on that drive and i can assure you there was no double yellow crossing or excess speeding done. We were mostly cruising along looking for a spot to take pictures and many of us had our wives and girlfriends with us. People are always quick to assume the worst. And if you ever caravaned with jeremiel you'd complain that he drives like an old Asian man. The only time i've seen him speed was when we were running late to an auto cross. And i don't believe we should be judged by the people we associate our selves with. After all, Jesus Christ befriended some pretty f**ked up individuals. Do you see him as a stain on humanity as well?

Also i'm 99.99% sure that none of the e30 lifestylers have ever driven our would drive a riced out Honda. And to condemn us because we do not shun people who's car aren't up to your cookie cutter specs is pretty narrow minded. That kind of thinking is counter productive and hurts the e30 scene. No wonder Vdubbers think we are all ass hats.

Hey, if you guys are willing to extend the same invite to me, I'm willing not to be an ass at all.

I do/did lump you all with Jeremiel5, and had a few phone convo's with him, and he was a flake. After that, the lumping began.

I'll admit, I'm a ass, but all the people bitching about it are sissy folk, if someone is gonna "cry" over a collection of words from hundreds or thousands of miles away via a keyboard, they are not worth my time. Do you ever see me give a fuck what "'dissin"comes down on me? Nope, it's just words on the internet. And these are all that can be used in place of face to face meeting due to distances.

I understand you guys may be otherwise, I met einstein57, had a few conversations with Jesse30, and thought they were stand up guys.

(But then again, they are not ratting friends out for pot busts or whatnot.)

I am very selective with the people that exist IRL around me. I'm not gonna let some lopasaurus rex go for a drive, or attend a pick a part with me. I will not take responsability for idiotic activities. It's as easy as understanding what chances your willing to take, and the e30 lifestyle crew seems to have taken too many chances for me to be willing to "associate" as such. Prove me wrong, organize a fundraiser, do something possitive, and people will be much more willing to hang.

Brag about living at parents house, smoking pot, getting faded/drunk and passing out on people's floors, not taking the time to reattach lighting equipment to the vehicle, etc. and you will be associated as such, even if only 3 members of your group fall into that mold.

I come from the old school, I hang out with crotchity old, grey haired hot rod folk with cigars that meet at 5 am on sundays for cruises and donughts w/ coffee. I love to bench race, not drift in parking lots. I'd rather watch American Grafitti, not FatF: Tokyo Drift.

I hope that last paragraph will give you guys an understanding on my viewpoint/personallity.

I don't drive my car if the lighting issue was in regards to a prior post of mine. Which is why i installed the capsule on my bike. All my energy any money goes towards school. I do live with my grandparents only because my house ( bought and paid for ) is too far away from school and i'd rather not pay utilities at the moment. There is method to my madness.

Not you bro. I don't think you have sidemarkers hanging out of your front bumper. Your front bumper doesn't even have the provisions for what I was bitching about. I just don't think it's a "best foot forward" move. I'm used to guys with toothbrushes cleaning the bolts on their differential at 6:30 AM in the parking lot of the Wally Parks Museum @ the Fairplex. I just don't understand rolling to a meet, but not taking the time to secure your DOT required signal/lighting eqipment.

You're probably right, and I've already changed my stance quite a bit as it relates to Taylor and the rest of the crew. I guess I figured as Jermeil went, so went the rest. Smoking pot all day long, driving stupidly, etc. It seems that's not the case, and that's why I've stopped being argumentative.

I do firmly believe that the people you surround yourself with says a lot about you, but I also know that when you're younger you are a lot more likely to overlook stuff that later on you won't tolerate. (Man I sound old.) Playing the religion card would take us places this thread doesn't need, so let's just pretend you didn't. :)

I'm sure anyone who's met me in person can tell you I'm not inherently an asshole (Shut up, Jack :D) but I'm sure I can be if the situation warrants.
I've been tempered by my experiences, I have no doubt, and probably do have a bias against canyon carvers in general since the squid who hit me was well over the double yellow and carrying way too much speed for a downhill left turn. He cut the corner because otherwise he was going to eat the guardrail, and I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anyway, Taylor and buds, you have my apologies for lumping you all into one group. At some point in the future I'm sure we'll hook up, drink some beer and talk shit to one another like friends do. :up: Maybe I'll extend the drive over the mountain into Palm Springs to the entire socal region some weekend. It's a blast, and usually relatively traffic-free.
