But yes, Firefox is much better. And I also am a huge fan of Apple products. I bought a PowerbookG4 when I graduated high school in '05 and it is still working flawlessly. My room mate bought Dell laptops for some reason and he'd been through 2 before he nutted up and bought a macbook.
If I never had any problems with Windows being sluggish, I'd agree. Windows was the first OS I ever used, so I'm really used to it, but I'd like to see what Mac is like.

Well, for the sake of not starting a new thread, I'm going to ask a question here. I am having a problem with the router in my mom's house. Every time I go to a web page with a lot of pictures on it, the router just quits responding. It will load half of the page and then take a shit. I don't even look at for sale threads or anything because I have to reset the router every damn time.
The firmware is up to date, so I don't really know what else to do. It's a netgear BTW.
Are you using it wireless? If so, is your mom or you on the phone at the same time? Cordless phones (not cell phones) mostly use the same frequency (2.4GHz) as wireless routers and can jam the signal. Big files or lots of pictures might time out with all the bad packets.

This most likely has nothing to do with the router. It has no idea what your looking at
so it´s all just 0 and 1´s for it. There is a problem with your computer no doubt.

actually not true, I had a netgear and the router cache filled its buffer limit (due to heavy multimedia use) but it would never clear itself as it should when it reaches that point. A hard reset to the router clears the cache problem until it "fills up" again. Netgear released new firmware to fix the problem and installed it but a few months later the router kept resetting itself non-stop....so I got fed up with it and ran over it with the car on the way to best buy and bought a linksys.

No doubt huh? I would say it's the router's fault without a doubt. This happens at my mother's house with any of the four computers that are here when I'm home. Happens when I'm at my house too. On top of that, I take this computer to my house and it works flawlessly.
Sounds like IE isnt Auto Detecting Proxy settings to find the proper gateway.

Thanks for the help. But I don't think it's a problem with my browser, or my computer at all. The router quite working for everyone on wireless, and the one computer that is plugged in to it.
