K-31 Swiss are nice, ammo is high. Nagant's are good and have some history, SKS is another option. Yugo mausers are good as well. Go to a few gunshows and check-out some gun forums...better yet take a friend who knows about military guns.

^Good idea. If you take a friend who already has some experience or better yet some of the same rifles you're looking into, he can be your "steady" guy. As in, he keeps you from making an excited impulsive buy. I have some friends who rely on me that way.

I i have a sportarized arisaka and a m98, if any of those sound interesting, though arisaka ammo is SUPER hard to find, and very expensive, last box i bought was 35.00, and that was a few years ago, with ammo on the rise, id lean towards a yugo mauser or nagant

Your choice for the .303 Enfield is a good one. They are not too expensive and relatively easy to maintain. I actually have one, but the rifling in the barrel is worn out, so it doesn't shoot too good anymore. Have fun and make sure you get what yo really want. Be careful though; they are very addicting and collecting can get very expensive. Good shooting.

I'd say a 1903A3, great sights, a caliber that is still manufactured and fairly common, and its AMERICAN, which is a big deal to me at least...
